The last couple rounds through a gym, completely worthless

I did my first bit of battling full gyms, and I have to say, I'm not really impressed. It was cool to see a Gengar, but with a counter for every pokemon in a 6v6, it is far too easy. My biggest gripe is how their cp falls. I'm fine with motivation falling, but the cp getting lower is kind of dumb...the last couple of times through the gym, I didn't even pick a team, in fact, I just rolled through it with the first pokemon. The last 2 rounds I just used my 3000 cp db/dc Dragonite and didn't even need to heal him. I'm for being more potion efficient, but without having to prestige, potions and revives are almost pointless. The last 2 rounds through the gym cost me 1 hyper potion...

I mean honestly, what's the point? Keep the pokemon hanging around if someone wants to feed them 50 berries to bring them back to life?

At least with the old gyms I felt that excitement of knocking out those last few pokemon in the last couple rounds. Now I am just annoyed I have to run through a lineup of 400 cp pokemon...

Agreed %100.
Why Cp drops to 500 cp on a 3k dragonite. Doesnt make any sense.

I kind of agree. Maybe cp can diminish a little but surely half would be more than too much. It takes a long time to clear out. That being said I really enjoy the element of active defense. I was fighting a gym and I could no take it down because at least one guy was sitting around fortifying with berries. After each round the mons CP was going up! You could really lock a town down with some pals.

The active defense is cool, but you could still implement that without having a pokemon drop down to such a low cp. Half of it's max cp is more than enough of a drop. I think maybe the decline in cp should only be to half of the pokemon's total cp, and it is booted when it loses all of it's motivation, not all of it's cp.

Eh. I don't see it as all that different from the old system, especially in the era of Blissey becoming commonplace. In my area you'd frequently have towers of 7 Blissey topped by 3 Tyranitar or Dragonite. Inevitably, it would be much quicker to bring down those top three than it was to battle even one of the Blisseys below it. So kind of an anticlimax either way.

This is where you use your disposable evolves that you do just for experience - after you have cleaned out your prestige squad you no longer need.
...and then it is potion free.
