The last ball bug is real

Not a question, just for your information. Niantic has acknowledged it here https://support.pokemongo.nianticlabs.com/hc/en-us/articles/221958208-Known-Issues in case you don't know. I hope this can settle the argument for a while. Kind of tired of those bogus claims of last ball catches without any proof. As a workaround, we will receive one extra premier ball.

In many cases I think folks were not lying, just getting the lucky catch which I acknowledged was possible in my case as well.

What about the many that ran away because of the bug?

I've been in this situation twice where I threw the very last ball at the bird and the ball on the upper left corner of the screen kept spinning like crazy, then I got kicked out.

It's a connection error. The bug they're talking about is the 0% chance to catch a Pokémon on the last premiere ball. It will always escape after the 1st wiggle UNLESS you critical catch it which overrides the bug.
