How many people would evolve an 88% IV Larvitar?

Yet again bare in mind I have never raided one as my area is awful.

I wouldn’t if it was level 20. Level 27-30...maybe where I live, probably wherever you live

Just start up a low tier account and Use a iPad. My partner and I got a lvl 25 account with machamps. We Can trio pretty much any tier 4 raid.

Even easier with cloudy being a fairly frequent weather condition to get a boosted Machamp(s). If raiding sucks in your area...try to make it suck less. Raiding is about 65-75% of the current game

Yupp, I Did just let my iPad raid along soloing a couple of Champs during Cloudy and got 2000CP machamps (no
Candy or dust needed to power up).

6x2000CP machamps is more than enough If the other two players are lvl +35

I tried a dual-wield Ttar yesterday in cloudy weather, with mix of Machamps and Hariyamas. All 6 on both account had C/DP. I ended up having all 6 mons wiped on both sides. Boss had Bite/Crunch.

Yeah, that wouldn’t work out well. Bite/Crunch is relatively easy compared to other moves, but you’d have zero margin for error (need super luck the entire countdown). Absol would be finished comfortably, though.

Yes, I've done dual-wield Absol with 43 seconds left in cloudy weather with the same fighter team. I guess non-cloudy Absol is about the same difficulty as cloudy Ttar.

I definitely need to find more Machamp raids. 1 powered up Machamp doesn't seen to be enough.

If he is high level or especially attack 15? Sure.

I would, as long as it has 15 attack. I've evolved a larvitar that had even less but only for the dex entry. I'm taking my time with next one, got to make it worth the stardust and candy investment too.

For 12 attack nah, not worth the candy in my case. Especially if the moveset isn't the best (as is my case with Iron Tail + Stone Edge) and seems it's 87%, close to yours and 14 attack 14 HP but 11 defense. I'd wait out on one with 15 attack and double dark. But if you really need one right now, pick the one with a double dark moveset from the ones you have.

I believe in playing according to your resources. One guy here posted months ago that he still had no Dragonite despite having over 500 Dratini candies because he was waiting for a 96% IV or higher. That's crazy to me.

I usually only catch 1-2 Larvitar per month, except for two lucky days when I caught 3 each, so I can't be extremely picky, especially since I've never been able to do a Tyranitar raid. My 5 Tyranitars are "only" 89-96 % and none of them has 15 attack, but I don't regret evolving and powering them up because they made it possible for me to solo Alakazam and I'm only one more short of my goal of 6 to handle all the future Psychic raid bosses.

On the other hand, Rhyhorn is extremely common here, so I transferred all the ones below 93% and by the time Rhyperior is released, I expect to have only 96% and up, maybe even 98% and up.

So, do the best you can and don't compare what you have with what you see others have. Most people here consider anything less than 100% to be trash because they hunt for perfects every day using the local scanner bot map, but that's not how I want to play this game.

Seeing as I have bad luck when it comes to my Larvitar and even when they have good IV's, they never have 15 attack, I would perhaps be tempted to evolve a 88% one IF it had 15 attack. But I probably wouldn't. Even though I have over 500 candies, I still would wait for a 15 attack one at over 90% IV.

But seeing as you don't seem to get to do Tyranitar raids and if Larvitar is rare for you, then I guess 88% isn't bad, but I hope it has good attack IV. Atleast 14, but preferably 15.

It's not fun to wait, but it's usually worth it.

88%?

floor(100*40/45)=88

Some IV calculators just truncate the decimal. Better imo than the ones that feel the need to include a decimal place like 88.9%.

I evolved a Pupitar with ADS 14/08/15, 82%, level 32. If it's high level, sure.

Are you hatching eggs? I’m nursing two 96% Pupitars.

My best Dragonites and Tyranitars came from eggs, plus all the candy that comes with a hatch.

If I didn't already have a Ttar, I would. When my only Ttar was It/Fb, I held off for a long time before evolving another. I just got my second Ttar (B/C) to level 31 a couple weeks ago, as Larvatar is super rare for me.
Unless he's your first Ttar, wait until you either have a better Larvatar or about 300 candy.

No, already had 7 Tyranitars ranging from 88% to 96% and a wild weather boosted larvitar that i evolved into a tyranitar with 71%. The only egg pokemon i will consider pumping candies and dust are Dratini, Snorlax, Chansey, Bagon, Beldum, Trapinch and Feebas.

I would, if I had the candies AND I knew that I wasn't likely going to be able to get a better one, or a Tyranitar via a Raid. (which isn't easy as it is - I've had a harder time catching Ttar's than most Legendary's)

Not an ideal situation, but... Ttar's are good.
