Is this Lapras worth powering up?

I just caught a Lapras today CP 1928 and IVs 05/15/11, with the best defensive moveset Ice Shard and Ice Beam.
Is it worth powering up for defensive purposes?

If 15/11 are def and stamina it could be worth powering up for defense.
BUT: Lapras candies are rare and Lapras is a very good Dragonite killer, so if you don't have a lot of candies, I'd prefer waiting for a better IVs one to use both for attack and defense.

Silly you. This will easily still kill any Dragonite even with this defensive moveset. Besides, after you get your first Lapras you can use it as your buddy for infinite candies.

In my opinion, power it up!

I hatched a pretty good Lapras on Hallowen event, wich gave me 49 candies.
I just asked because it's difficult to find Lapras, and find with this best defensive moveset and with 15 DEF it's almost impossible.
I follow some Pokemon GO Youtube channels and I didin't noticed anyone catching a Lapras with this moveset on Lapras Event in Japan.

A 0 IV Lapras will outperform a 100 IV Nidoqueen in all aspects. If your town has a ton of Dragonites and you don't have any Pokémon to take them down as easily as an Ice type would, I'd definitely power it up. Depending on your luck, it would probably take another couple of months before you even see another Lapras, much more with better IVs. Play and have fun.

I wouldn't worry that much about the IVs - the base stats are so good they won't make a huge difference. Personally I'd power it up unless Lapras are common in your area (I've yet to see one in the wild).

This is my second wild Lapras. The first one has bad IVs and Frost Breath / Dragon Pulse.

I've got a 78 IV 11-14-12 Lapras with the same moveset I have been powering up And he is a tank on both offense and defense. I personally like ice beam as much as blizzard.

For a wild catch the IVs are very respectable. Also it already is at a pretty high level so you don't need a whole lot dust and candy to power it up (to lvl 30 I guess?). Why not do it?

I caught a 56% Lapras 15 Attack/10 Defense/0 Stamina with IS/B and it's amazing (level 20+). My other one is better IV-Wise with the same moveset as yours and also worth every candy.

Lapras at 0 IV will outperform any of its counterparts like Cloyster or Dewgong at 100% IV.
