Lapras with WG/HP

Sooo I caught a bloody Lapras IV86 1k1 CP with pure Water MS: WG/HP. The thing is I only see Lapras as a counter to those Dragonites in gyms. So what should I do with him? Put him in gyms or use him as a Water type attacker, or just save candy for the next Lapras? I already have the best offensive Vaporeon.

Just keep him as of now... Who knows later on Niantic decides to bring back Lapras as a Monster... But still a worse type of Vapes...

Nearly the worst moveset, both on offense/defense.

I also have a Lapras with WG+HP with good IV, but there is no reason to power it up. Vaporeons are easy to get and they are stronger than Lapras, on top of that, the moveset is also the weakest for defending. Only Lapras with ice moves worth its rare candies since it can be used to attack dragonite and it is actually still the strongest ice-type pokemon despite all the nerfs. 1000 cp? sounds like a good prestiger. I don't see it being useful for much else.

If you happen to find a double Ice Piloswine in a gym, you've got yourself pretty much the perfect counter.

haha, so I invested in incubators and yesterday I hatched a Lapras 1444CP 84%IV with WG/HP

yeah.....

and right after that I hatched almost the same Lapras, 1462CP 84%IV, WG/Blizzard ... so a bit better but I still won't power it up.... even though the only Lapras I had before was a wild caught CP 34 :D ....

It's the best Water prestiger.
Power it up a bit to around 1300CP and use it to prestige against Rhydons and Tyranitars.

It would take a lot of candy & dust, but he could be an interesting defender if a CP in the low 2K's would be relevant in your area. He'd have a nasty surprise for anyone who attacks with the typical Arcanine, and HP isn't quite as easy to dodge as it used to be. That would take a lot of dust and rare candy, though, and there are probably better ways to spend them

It never hurts to have more WG/HP prestigers, although the ice typing is disadvantageous against some of the typical targets for water pokemon (fire, rock).

I'd say just hang onto him for now, and have some fun prestiging with him when you get a chance. The rules are always changing, and Laprases are hard to come by.
