Lapras - ice shard/ ice beam
hatched a lapras with shard and icebeam currently almost 2700cp. Over 85 iv dont remember.. I know is the best for defense, but I really like him too in offense. Ice factor is key to bunch of dragonites, so they are both, and the dps from shard is almost same as frostbreath.. Hits slower but harder and enough to dodge. Ice beam still kills dragons like crazy... So anyone with this moveset on a high cp lapras using it for attack?

Your Lapras is only the 4th best ice attacker in the game, but it's not far behind the other 3 pure ice Lapras movesets. Especially since yours is almost 2700cp, it should kill dragonites like no other. Keep powering up that Lapras and use him as an attacker, and he'll gladly make up an excellent defender the day you hatch/catch a FB Lapras.
My main dragonite killer is a 2084 Lapras with IS/Blizzard. Against dragonites with Steel wing, I can fit 2 Ice shards in between two of the defenders quick attack, which arguably offers better DPS than the 3 Frost Breath I can fit with my Cloyster. Against dragonites with DB I only dodge charge moves, so DPS should be almost the same as spamming FB.
Bottom line - Your Lapras is one of the best dragonite killers in the game and you should have no problem clearing at least 2x 3000cp dragonites in a gym with it if you know how to dodge.
I use mine (same moves, level30 2526 CP 91%iv) to attack against Dragonite and nothing else.
Does the job easily even with 800 cp less.
Most of the time he's in gym to defend though.
I have another with IS/B level 30 too.
Do you think it's worth start to walk them buddy and power up higher than 30 for defense?
