Lacking much knowledge on Houndoom

I always thought of Houndoom as a dex filler but now I see because of raids and his dark moves he seems to be highly valuable. I would assume in future as well with so many psychic legendaries. Before I would have never thought to use a TM on him but now it seems like a wise investment? Please help me choose:
1. Level 20 90% S/Fp best moves but requires 75k dust to bring to level 30
2. Level 27 89% S/C I would think it would be a good moveset but seems ranked worst by a lot so I could TM charge in hopes of Fp
3. Do nothing I have 2 Trex B/C both above level 33 and plenty candies just been waiting on dust investment

No,

with all the Tyranitar raids it is very easy to get a team of 6 Tyranitars and you will be much happier with them going up against MewTwo than with Houndooms

It would be very easy IF you're lucky enough to live in an area where people actually show up for raids. I have had by pass by 3 or 4 Tyranitar (and several Snorlax, Rhydon, and Venusaur) raids because there was no one else around.

Right here with you on this one, plus I would have at least one houndoom and one umbreon because let's face it, on this website Mewtwo can have Focus Blast. That is a one hit on Ttar. Better be prepared.

23 raids and none vs. Tyranitar yet...Just depends if they even pop up in your area and if enough people are around to take it down...I wouldn't be against hatching and evolving 1 personally (assuming the IVs are insanely high)...

For very dense city/gym areas...yeah, get 6 Tyranitars instead...

I just see him as a small backup against Exeggutor raids / gym defenders. Having fire/dark lets him hold his ground against the psychic and grass attacks Eggy has. But somehow Houndoom gets surpassed by a cloyster with Avalanche in attack, which is why I prefer Houndoom as more of a backup in case Cloyster gets KO-ed.

I think you're good between two Ttars with Bite Crunch.

I'd save up the dust and invest it elsewhere. And if you've got nowhere to invest it then save it for the legendaries.

I would only need to invest 28k to get the level 27 to 30. The bigger resource is using TM to try for S/FP because right now it has S/C.

I would wait to get first a Houndoom with Foul Play, and if necessary use a Fast TM to get Snarl, that way you are guaranteed the combo you want.
