Kingler isn't that useless

I understand that SOME people don't like Kingler as one of there higher CP Pokemon considering he is useless. Trust me, he is good for one thing. Since Rhydons and Golems have higher CP now, you might see them more frequently in gyms, which can get annoying. You can use a Kingler with either the moveset of Metal Claw and Water pulse or Mud shot and Water pulse to take them down. Let me explain. Metal claw and Mud shot are both good against rock and also having a short cooldown time, but since Kingler is a water type, he won't take that much damage. Also since both Golem and Rhydon are Ground/Rock types, they'll have a double weakness to water so Water pulse with Kingler's STAB will be brutal.

You are also missing the fact that Rhydon/Golems are Rock/Ground meaning water is Super Super Effective and Water Gun will be better than Metal Claw or Mud Shot.

Not to mention HydroPump or Aqua Tail better than Water Pulse for Attacking.

I will never ever ever use a Kingler as an attack

I meant other than using the stronger Water type Pokemon, this can be a fun substitute other than using Vaporeon or Gyarados all the time. You still brought up a good point though because why would you use the weaker water type over the much stronger water type that gets the job done faster?
