Any rumors from those leakers about a July 4th weekend event? I need double exp to get rid of all this evolve fodder.

As for why in the current gym meta, I haven't figured that out yet.

July 4th caters only to Americans. With almost everyone pissed about the gym update do you really think they need a more reason for players to be pissed at them?

I think people would be happy, not pissed, for special events, whether supporting American holidays or any holidays around the world.

This. I don't give a damn if it's on the anniversary of Stalin passing his 50 millionth murder milestone. It's a made up event in an imaginary game. Anyone who does care really has nothing better to do but create things to be mad about.

The only event I see happening around that time is one celebrating the anniversary of the game, which is the 6th.

I will prefer double stardust event as double candies and double XP events has been done before. And moreover, all the new updates especially the raid bosses requires lots of stardust to power up our Pokemons.. Just my wishful thinking... :)
