Jolteon vs. Dragonite
I read a lot of Jolteon bashing so far, but still I powered up a Jolteon to 1700 CP, because to me it's a decent Vaporeon fighter. And there are a lot of Vaporeons around here ;D
Adding to this, I made a very strange experience with my Jolteon today. I attacked a gym together with a friend of mine. There was a 1400 Vaporeon and a 2300 Dragonite in it. So we both set up our Jolteon (both around 1700 CP) against the Vaporeon and a Lapras and a Dewgong against the Dragonite.
Now a very strange thing happened. We killed the Vaporeon easily, so we kept the Jolteon against the Dragonite planning to switch it, when it runs low on HP, so it's worth using a potion afterwards. But the Jolteons didn't run low on HP. We made so much damage that the dragonite was down so quickly, that we still had more than 50% HP after taking down both pokemon.
We both used a small potion (20 HP) and fought the Dragonite once more and it went down as quickly as in the first fight.
I was really amazed, because I didn't expect anything like that, especially since dragonite should have a resistance against electro.
Now I'm wondering if anyone else made experiences like this?
Kind regards,
seran

I have an CP1811 Jolteon.
Jolteons are glass cannons, they pack quite a punch, but can break easily. In both attack and defense their numbers are slightly better than Vaporeon, (192 vs 186 and 174 vs 168, respectively), but it's with stamina where they fall woefully short, scoring only half of Vaporeon's (130 vs 260). So if you can dodge the charge moves and at least a good portion of the quick moves, they can be very useful.
I used to be frustrated every time I evolved an eevee into a Jolteon. I had 2 perfect 100% Eevees and two 96% Eevees and all 4 went into Jolteons :(
I did power one up to 1700+ and I use it all the time now for Slowbros, Lapras, Vaps etc. It is my main go to. I also have a 1400 and a 1200 and use them as well a fair bit.
With such quick attacks I can get 2-3 attacks in before I have to dodge and Jolteon really packs a punch. The odd time I miss a hydro pump it really hurts but I've used Jolteon so much now that I can usually get through Vaps without missing a dodge.
Like someone else said they are glass cannons but I've learned to love them. It is my main guy to attack Water and Flying 'mons with.
The one positive with the Jolteons is they all came with Thunder :D
Jolteon is amazing. It fits perfectly to anybody who is good at dodging. He can melt Gyarados and also do extremely well against Vapos and Lapras.
Besides, I find it the funniest mon to fight. I have a 91% Jolt with Thunder and I always keep him maxed out.
I also have 2 others with 93 and 96 but came with Discharge, which sucks.
Basically, the ones who say Jolteon is garbage definitely doesn't know how to dodge properly.
