Partly cloudy, Thunder. 10-12 sec left.

Two Groudon at level 30 is basically what you need. Took out 75-80% of HP and then finish off with whatever high-DPS that you have. I’ve only got rock-Rhypherior so far, so couldn’t test it. Simulations say that even a level 20 Groudon can manage after the two Groudons.

Yeah, I did one of these as part of the 10 raid thing, used a level 32-33 Rhydon and Golem with double ground moves and threw a mewtwo in the third spot and was able to finish it off no problem.

The problem is you do not always have Groudons especially when they don't re-release it. Without Groudons or very good Dragons, this is bordering impossible without boost, because Earthquake is comically bad.

True, but considering that this was an almost impossible solo at first, the rebalancing last week made it uninteresting.

My understanding was that before Groudon and the rebalance, it had not been done. Would be interested in knowing someone accomplished this feat.

Pre-Groudon the only theoretical means of soloing Jolteon was by using a team of six maxed Shadow Ball Mewtwo. To my knowledge there's no record of anyone accomplishing this.

EDIT: To elaborate on this, this is a chart of the top DPS counters with Gen 3 and later filtered out until only what was available at the time of the first raids was left. Keep in mind the DPS numbers were likely lower as well since it was pre-stat rework. 16.67 is the cut-off DPS needed to deal 3000 damage in 180 seconds.

I managed to solo Jolteon yesterday with just one L30 Groudon and a bunch of good generalists (namely L36~38 C/SB Mewtwo and L40 Rayquaza). Aprox. 8 seconds left.

I'm guessing Jolteon became significantly easier to solo after the stat rework?

Yes, a lot. I never tried it before because of powering up a number of Groudons to level 40 seemed to be a waste of resources. Two Groudons to level 30 I can accept.

Nice.

I wish I had a connection that allowed me to do that; I soloed it with 2 level 38 Groudons (93% and 96%) and a Rhydon, but I had exactly 0 Seconds left on the countdown timer when the raid ended.

I pulled it off today using a lvl 29 Groudon, then an Alakazam and 2 Mewtwo in windy weather

Imma pour one out for Jolteon.

He used to be something.

Nice! I've got OCD about leaving Pokemon non-maxed so I try to power everything I want to use up to 40, and did this raid (no weather boost) with two Rayquazas, one Groudon and one Shadow Ball Mewtwo. Groudon was clearly the star player even though the Rays pretty much match him for DPS since he just won't go down. Even though I managed with plenty time to spare, this convinced me to power a second Groudon up to 40. I'll probably wait for his eventual return and then max the best one. (My current best non-maxed is 91% with 15 ATK.)
