Jolteon

Just evolved a Jolteon (I wanted Flareon) from a hatched Eevee. It got Volt Switch and Thunder. From a numbers perspective Volt Switch seems inferior to Thunder Bolt in every way even if it is by a small margin. I already have a maxed out Jolteon but don´t have an electric prestiger. It is at 1529 CP, so it´s pretty much perfect to take on those 2700-3000 Gyarados. Is Thunder the move you want for prestiging? (I know that most people prefer Thunderbolt for their regular Jolteon, but I was thinking that Thunder may be more desireable for prestiging for max DPS a la Solarbeam on Tangela?) My alternatives are Magneton 1200 WP, but with Spark and Flash Cannon. Not ideal for Gyarados...

Magneton – prestige against Dragonite

Jolteon – use Thunder when the Gyarados has about 1/3 of its HP left, don't let it use Hydro Pump, which is tricky to dodge and does massive damage. However, since you got Volt Switch, using 1 Thunder at Gyarados's 5/6 and 1/3 HP should be fine.

I personally prefer Thunderbolt or Discharge (65 damage with 3 bars is pretty awesome).

I have 2 Jolteons for prestige (1550 and 1620cp) and I prefer using my TS/D over my TS/T but both are great prestigers. Same applies for Snorlax, some people prefer L/BS over L/HB. Depends on your play style. I think you can give your Jolteon a try and see how you like it.
