IVs & Movesets showing up in pokehunter.co

I saw pokehunter.co showing the IVs and movesets of a Larvitar that I had scanned the other day. Could this be a part of some beta test that is going on? Also, this is only happening to specific species of Pokemon (very rare spawns to be precise). I also saw the same of a Vibrava that spawned near my office today.

Newer paid scans can have IVs included for an additional fee (an extra $2.99 on a 7-day scan). As I understand it, they don't scan every single Pokemon for IVs, only those they deem of sufficient interest.

It's not an addition I'm particularly happy with. The scans themselves were bad enough, but they at least had an element of mystery to them.

Lame. I feel so strongly about scanners that this sort of BS makes my blood boil.

Scanners use hundreds of thousands of bot accounts to collect the pokemon location data. IVs and movesets are based on player level. If a bot account is at level 30 or higher, it can detect the IVs and movesets for all players at level 30 or higher. Bot accounts are banned quickly, so this is expensive to maintain and the Lv30+ accounts are setup to only scan for IVs and movesets for specifically chosen pokemon species.

Are you disliking my accurate answer? Or just disliking that scanners exist in general?

Niantic could easily give different values for levels 30+, too. The one here is free, majority of players use it to find/organize raids. Fewer use it as a scanner when raids aren’t happening. It does tell at a glance which species is nesting at a park, which seems like harmless help.
