Is IV even a thing with PvP?

Like when we had 'prestige' for gyms, sometimes it was optimal to have a lower IV split to maintain a low CP with the attacker having a higher level.

There is different factors in play when trying to keep CP down and dps up

Didn't anyone else keep their favorite prestige?

My guess is that a level 40 mon with a 1400 cp and low IVs vs a high IV mon with a low level with equal CPs will result in the higher level having a decisive advantage. It's all guesses we really have no idea how pvp will really work.
I just dont see a 100%iv 1499 cp MM metagross dominating.

I would say a metagross with the same CP will operate the same.
