IV Checker help for Groudon

Caught cp 2884 today it shows 2 choices on pokiegenie all listed a A/D/S:
1. 14/12/15 91%
2. 13/14/15 93%
on graphic i saw on reddit cp chart when catching at level 20 and 25 next to cp it shows 2884 with 3 choices either 14/12/15 ECF, 15/13/13 FDD, 13/14/15 DEF

Does anyone have any idea what those letters stand for, I assume it can be a way to differentiate the different 2884 cp to know which iv it is? Thanks for any help

The letter next to the stats mean the same thing. A = 10, B = 11 and so on. Sometimes it's difficult to tell them apart until you level up the Pokemon (and sometimes even then you invest a lot of resource).

Sometimes i'll use the IV checker here or Pokegenie app to see how many power ups are required to reach a stage where the calculator is unsure of the resulting CP, therefor knowing before hand how much i'm likely to spend to find out it's exact stats. Not an exact science but works for me.

Cp 2884 (level 25). Can:
1. 14/12/15 91%
2. 13/14/15 93%
3. 15/13/13 91%
You: 14/12/15 or 13/14/15
Only a way after: Then you POWER UP -> level 25.5.
If CP 2942 => 13/14/15
If CP 2941 => 14/12/15

The letters are the IVs in hexadecimal, presumably in case you want to use that three letter code in its name instead of nine letters xx/xx/xx but don't yet know hexadecimal well enough to convert quickly in your head.

Yes, using Hex for IVs seemed an obvious choice to me, surprised everyone isn't doing it.
