Evolved my first Tyra ever thanks to 5 hatches, but it was actually a bit disappointing. Has anyone have some experience in fighting these guys already?
I consider powering him up, but wouldnt do it, if it is a suboptimal defender.

SE is good, tons of damage in quick animation. IT is best defense move. You have the second best defending set.

I have battled that movesett before and SE will catch you off guard first use. Definitely something to power if you want to use him as defender

I have an IT/FB one…..worth the power up or is FB just terrible for anything? Congrats on yours being a good defender!

Sry to say that, but it is just awful. Probably its worst set. Would invest dust into him tbh.

For what it's worth, Stone Edge is severely disadvantaged against a Machamp. I've been using a 2200 Machamp with Counter-DP to fight Tyranitar I see in gyms, and the biggest one I've fought was around 3400cp with Iron Tail / Stone Edge. I was able to kill the Tyranitar before it even got off a Stone Edge during every single battle.

Stone Edge is good in theory, as its dodge window is very small; however, in practice I've found that Machamp just destroys it so fast it can't even be used in battle.

Ok, I was afraid to hear exactly this. Hurts to say that, but will probably leave him aside and safe my candy for another one...
