Investing with stardust

I just hit level 30 and power up cost is starting to become real expensive. With Gen 2 coming up and most likely 'Highest DPS per type' list would be rearranged once again, should i continue to invest in High strong and IV pokemon or should i wait until Gen 2 is released? These changes are extremely annoying and is starting to piss me off because we all invest in pokemons for Niantic to mess it up for us not once but twice. I feel like Niantic should reimburse us with stardust for the hassle.

I debated the same thing. I am waiting and saving Stardust. Hard to resist as I have been wanting to power up a number of my mons, but have held out because I know Gen2 will be a gamechanger.

Right now im investing in Snorlax, blastoise, executor and pincir. I'll get them until level 30 then stop. I'll continue to power up only snorlax and wait until Gen 2 is released. Most likely pincir is not going to be the strongest bug pokemon anymore.

There are only 3 guys I'm powering up past 30. The rest are sitting there at 30. I'm starting to save stardust now for Gen 2. Who knows what changes might come and they may do another nerf/buff tweak. Having said that here are the 3 I'm powering up:

1) Snorlax 80%IV (ZH/BS)
2) Gyarados 96%IV (Bite/DP)
3) Arcanine 96%IV (FF/Flamethrower)

In Gen 2 I'm going to need a lot of stardust to power up my evolved Eevees, Slowking, BellAwesome and Politoed. Collecting the candies for them now.

Save your stardust!

I'm still powering up on the grounds that I can enjoy it today, and Pidgey grinding isn't the worst way to spend time :)

Of course we could be waiting a few months for Gen 2...

Yep, never know. Gen 2 could be here in 5 days... or 5 months.

I'm really curious to see if there is any truth to the Dec 7 rumors....

I don't think stardust is that hard to collect. Just be patient and catch every pokemon you see. I power up all my useable pokemon with 93%+ IVs to their maximum potential.

I'm pretty much using level 30 as my ceiling (only two, I think, went to level 31). Most of my top tier are around levels 27-30 and do what I need them to at those levels. I'm spending stardust only on ones that I have recently obtained (like a hatched Rhyhorn that I evolved into a Rhydon with Mud Slap/EQ -- FINALLY!). So it's getting dust as quickly as I earn candies from my buddy. I want to get these last few up to my top tier level. But outside of a few exceptions like that, I'm banking my dust for what might be coming.

I have been saving my dust since the Thanksgiving event. But I am also giving myself a cut off date of Dec 7th for gen 2 to come out. How long will you guys hold out for?
