Just caught a lv 30 shuppet with IV 98 (15/15/14 ATT/DEF/HP). Should I invest in it? I have 250 shuppet candies and 860K stardust. I guess evolved shuppet is a weaker version of Genger. For reference, the only Genger I got with legacy move SC/SB has IV 87 with stat 13/12/14.
Banette's DPS against Mewtwo with shadow claw is only slightly below that of a shadow claw Haunter (which can still be gotten these days) and lags behind even the lowest set of Gengar.
If you dont have any other gengar (or are saving your gastly for if they do a gengar CD) I'd say maybe, but that shadow claw gengar you already have will still do more than the banette
SC Gengar with terrible IVs is still the better investment than a perfect Shuppet. I've maxed my only SC Gengar (a/d/s 11/15/12) well before considering any investment in a Shuppet. That said, when maxed out Banette isn't a terrible backup and does a little better overall compared to Hex Gengar against psychic types. Should Alakazam come back as a raid boss you'll want the extra ghosts for their DPS.
tl;dr: Do it after you max the Gengar.
