An interesting gym session
I was taking down a Valor gym earlier today. The first defender was a really small Blissey (1.3K). It had double psychic moves, so my Ttar squad took care of it quite easily. But someone was feeding berries. So I switched to Machamp for the last motivation rounds. After a while, the berry feeder stopped feeding, probably due to the 10 berry cap.
Just as I was about to clear the last 2 defenders, another gym "defender" came. Error 29. Some Mystic spoofer took the gym, and placed a 3.1k ZH/DG Blissey on the first slot.
On the first round, I attacked the entire gym at one go, to send the signal, "Hey! I took down the gym!"
After that, I attacked only the Blissey, with my fighter squad (Machamps/Hariyamas). Of course, he fed a lot of berries.
I continued attacking, hoping to make him hit the berry cap.
Then, I saw another nearby gym turn yellow, but under attack. I went there to slot in a defender.
After staying at the yellow gym for a while (about 10 minutes) to feed some berries, I went back to the first gym, and started attacking it again. This time, nobody fed any berries. Luckily there was no error 29 or ninja snipers this time. I inserted a Blissey, and within minutes, spoofers grabbed all the other slots.
Answers
I can count on my right hand the number of known spoofers in my area. I think I only know of 2-3 confirmed, though there may be more out there. It's worse in my girlfriend's town, as there's two hard-to-reach gyms that are always Instinct and are taken down ASAP when I take them, even at night.
I know it's spoofing because I don't see anyone else there, and it's in the middle of a "park" full of rocks and rattlesnakes.
