What's everyone's thoughts on incubators? Worth buying them for 2km eggs during the event ? I usually only use them for 10km and sometimes 5km but not sure if I should splash out for this event

I have to say no lol. It seems like a 2K Snorlax, Lapras, and Larvitar are extremely rare. I'd spend whatever coins I have on incubators to use up all your existing non 2K eggs?

What? Didn't everyone hatch a Lapras from a 2km egg?

I hatched a 98 Lapras (with mixed type moves however) and 11 candies from a 2k.

Did anyone find a snorlax from 2k?

I've hatched 2 Snorlax from 10km eggs from this event. I think they're easier to get from 10kms until the event lasts.

I hatched five new 2k eggs yesterday and got a Lapras from one of them right away. Water Gun/Blizzard, but still.

I have 9 2kms eggs atm haha

Lapras, Aerodactyl, Militank, and Skarmory definitely hatch from 2K eggs for this event. All other previously 10K mon reports I'm holding out as faulty or as possible super rare in 2Ks as they are unsubstantiated after early reports. In my option they either absolutely do not hatch from 2Ks or are super rare 2K hatches. Snorlax and other rare mons are hatching at accelaterated rates though and there are almost zero reports at all of Pinecos, Gligar, or Mantines. Please see collected 10K hatch numbers below since the event start of 571 reported hatches.

That look great! Now if only those damn pokestops would give some 10k eggs. All I'm getting are 2km eggs.

And the faster you clear your 2K eggs, the higher your chances of getting one during the event are...
Egg wise, this event is a cash grab... There is no doubt about it :(

Cash grab? There has never been an event that paid out so well with so little investment. I mean, they moved stuff to 2K eggs which are much faster to get rid of with a free incubator. Of course your odds improve if you pay, what kind of idiot would pay anything at all if they didn't? To classify this as a cash grab is completely false though.

It's not a good value in terms of getting candy, but could be a good value if you're looking to get high IV rare 'mons to evolve/power up.

Bought them, but I just can't use them on 2 ks even if I try to :/ I would just not let myself do it, knowing it is not worth it

If 'mons in eggs are determined when an egg is given to you then I'd get rid of all the 10 and 5 km, fill my inventory with green ones which normally are rare for me, and walk them one by one even when the event is over. Quite often I have just one orange egg in the infinite incubator which gives me some crap in the end so I'd love to have a nice surprise every 2 km.

You don't have to. If you walk 10k per day, you can clear up 5 eggs. Just wait until 5k to use your paid incubators.

Easier said than done when it is raining all day long, like it is in Denmark. They're promising rain pretty much every day for the event.

Well, don't. They really thought about this event - we are happy cause we can find awesome mons by walking really short distance, and they can make money if we we'll be buying incubators, which will end really fast, because they will last only for 6km -> 3x2km egg xD

Save your candies for the discounted Lucky Eggs. Using Lucky Eggs during the event seems pretty good on paper.

I have decided not to do it. I am buying the lucky eggs because of the value but I am not getting any more incubators. I am only using 2k eggs in the orange incubator like I normally do.

As you guys know we have been compiling hatch info on this board.

When weighing whether to invest incubators here is the data. In terms of 2K eggs it MAY be in our interest to cycle them out a little more quickly...thus far the 10K eggs (about 6.5% of eggs reported and received thus far) have all been Chansey, Snorlax, Mareep, Larvitar, Dratini, and Porygon. One Gligar was also reported out of these 30 collected eggs. It appears that these desirable mon are more common than ever before. Lapras and Aerodactyl iare also hatching at a good rate from 2K eggs (about 2% each of total hatches).

I'm not advocating any spending but I would be wrong to not point out these highly elevated drop rates for these particular mons. More data needs to be collected to be more sure of these rates. However right now the overall drop rate for these mons looks to be not just good but incredible compared to past research.

New topic mate. Props for your research again. Hoping I can obtain some desired 10 KM eggs.

The old thread is fine. I'm still compiling reports from it right now. Then I'll look it all over, note outliers and start a new thread when I give it a look over. Waiting for the new thread is fine too. I appreciate the thanks.

Agree, if the contents of the occasional 5k and 10k eggs continue to be pretty good, then I'm going to burn through my 2k eggs as fast as I can in order to get more 5's and 10's. I think they temporarily adjusted rarity and maybe even eliminated some commons from the pool.

Usually I buy incubators (with gym coins) only for 10 km eggs, currently I breed the 2 km eggs with the unbreakable one and use the bought breakable ones for the new 5 km eggs I get. Seems to be the best strategy, since 5 km is the new 10 km and I didn't get any 10 km since the start of the event anyway.

I ran 13 incubators on a combination of 2 5 and 10 km eggs so far. I'm not upset that i blew a bunch on 2km eggs. I hatched at least 6 mons that I needed for the dex. In still sitting on about 1000 coins and plan on blowing them on incubators too. I'm going to try and accumulate a few more 10km before making the nest purchase.

I'm planning on walking at least 10K a day over Easter. Given that almost all eggs are 2K's the amount of Incubators I would have to buy would be absolutely ridiculous (roughly calculated: 45). So far I am also not impressed with the outcome of my hatches. I'll be sticking with the infinite Incubator and maybe a blue one occasionally.

One thought is if the "NEW" 10km egg drops are all very good right now, if you're lucky enough to get a new 10km egg, then maybe it makes sense to save those since you're sorta set to not get the Gligars, Mantines, etc...right now.

Save the new 10km egg to hatch for a double candy event and just hatch your exisitng/old 10km eggs first.

I wouldn't use a blue incubator on a 2km egg though. I think with the gym rewamp, Pokecoins and dust will be harder to get in general so I'm saving my coins...

You have to be really patient knowing that there is a good Pokemon in your egg and wait for the double candy event. I will hatch it most likely right after the event or even straight away.

That being said, I'm also not a fan of the blue incubators for 2 KM eggs. Only using 1 at max atm.

If the weather was better and I had better time I would probably talk about 12k a day during this event. As it is, I should be content with walking 2-5k a day, so I have pretty much decided to go all in on incubators for this event. Not so much because it is worth it in terms of money, which is highly debatable, but because it is FUN!
