Is the increase in a normal berry's effectiveness at gyms a direct result of the decreased golden berry drop rate?

Noticed when feeding my gym mons today a normal berry filled up the motivation to the top, it was over a third empty. Is this because we are supposed to be saving the golden razz for legendaries seen as the drop rate has gone down? Again no word from Niantic before yet another pretty significant change :/

I see no direct link between these two.
Without golden Berry it is impossible to keep a gym being attacked actively. Golden Berry can top a Pokemon 10 times. Normal Berry increases motivation by 1/3 at the first time, then it decays.
If you say "the effect of Razz Berry on increasing catch chance improved" then I might buy it. But that didn't happen.
A nerf is a nerf. Don't justify Niantic.

When I drop a mon in a gym then immediately feed it a razzberry, it brings the CP to maximum.

That has always been the case. In addition, local feeding is always more effective than remote feeding. I want to say at least x3 more effective, but I haven't stopped to actual record and measure the effect.

The question was asked because there has been a change in berry feeding, u get more bang for your buck now with regular berries. Golden razz are less common from raids.
