Importance of Base Stats

This question is a follow up to my other question, "Completing my Naming Convention". You don't have to read it, as it isn't necessary for this specific question. It's more back story for why I am asking about base stats.

https://pokemongo.gamepress.gg/q-a/completing-my-naming-convention

I'm looking to include in each Pokemon's name a custom rating for both attacking and defending. These ratings would be according to each Pokemon's base stats. I am aware that stats don't take important factors into consideration, such as Pokemon types, counters, and the current meta. Disregarding these factors, I want to determine how important each stat is when attacking and defending. Due note, that I am asking about 'base stats', not IVs.

Due to how stats work though, this may be a pointless effort on my part. I'm assuming that one stat is not simply outright better than another. For example, I've heard from others that Stamina is generally better than Defense; but for Blissey specifically, she benefits more from a higher Defense IV than from a higher Stamina IV, due to her Stamina already being extremely high.

Despite this fact, if possible, I want to determine the effectiveness of each stat for attacking and defending.

Here is one example of what I'm looking for: Let's say that while attacking, the Attack stat is twice as effective as the Defense and Stamina stats are. In this case, the Attack stat would be valued at a 2:1 ratio, while the other two stats would be valued at a 1:1 ratio. In this example, the opposite would be true while a Pokemon is defending. The newly calculated stats would then be used to create a rating for attacking and defending.

Here is another example: While attacking, the Attack stat is valued at a 2:1 ratio, Defense at a 1:1 ratio, and Stamina at a 1.5:1 ratio.

While defending, Attack is valued at a 0.75:1 ratio, Defense at a 1.5:1 ratio, and Stamina at a 2.33:1 ratio.

I understand if there isn't an easy answer for this. Any constructive feedback is appreciated.

Well, how do you get those numbers?

The numbers I used in example, or base stats in general? I just made up numbers in my examples. As for base stats, Gamepress tells you the stats for each Pokemon when viewing them.

Seems like a lot of information to encode into 12 characters. Especially if you are already taking some of those for moveset and IVs.

It is. I've been messing around with it though, to see if I can squeeze them together. I found a way to make it work.

You really can not simplify it like that. It's very hard to quantify how much attack matters compared to defense or stamina even in a specific matchup and those numbers will change for every single matchup. What you're essentially creating is just your own CP ranking, ie. it won't be an accurate representation of those pokemon's strengths no matter what you do.

Gamepress already has rankings for you for attacking and defending. A simplistic method like this doesn't cut it compared to looking at all the matchup data.

PS. If you do want to keep going forward, stamina does not matter more than defense when defending, they matter equally because of how the damage formula works.

I suppose I am just making my own CP rating. I didn't really think of it in that way. I do get how it is probably pointless, and that stats aren't just that simple.

I might give it a go, and see how well it sorts Pokemon. If I see it start putting Pokemon like Vaporeon, or Snorlax far too low on the list for example, then clearly it isn't working.

As for Gamepress' rankings, they used to rate every Pokemon out of 10. Now they seem to only rate Pokemon based on attacking, but Pokemon that aren't very good get excluded (this is fine, except the perfectionist in me wants all Pokemon to be rated - good or bad), and only the top tier defenders get rated.

Thanks for the input. I think I'll just experiment with stuff, and change it or scrap it as I see needed.
