Ideas for better Pokémon management

I find the current Pokémon list in the game very lacking in ways to sort and manage my mons. I typically keep the list sorted by CP, which serves pretty well when attacking. But if I come across a gym stacked with Gyarados, I need quick access to my electrics (which I never use otherwise and have left in the 1300-1500 CP range). So for them, I have renamed them with the @ symbol at the beginning of their name (@Jolteon, @Raichu, etc) so I can quickly sort A-Z and find them. But even that's a kludge.

What I find most frustrating is the fact that I can't very easily group and find the ones I want to use for training. I scroll through my list until I find six with low-enough CP that work against the gym's line-up. When I finish the first round of training and go back into the gym, I then must repeat the search/select exercise. This is one of the main reasons I don't train as often as I would like.

I'm thinking that if there was a folder system we could use to group our mons, that would help a lot. For example, you could have folders named Attackers, Defenders, Trainers, etc. Or maybe name folders by types that you use a lot (Fire, Water, Electric).

But since, for now, we must deal with a flat list and limited sorts, does anyone have any methods that work for you?

I tried renaming to group some, but it didn't really work for enough eventualities. Custom folders would be ideal.

Folders are only good for static teams....if you wanna train a gym, you always have to constallate a new appropriate team.
Therefore I think two possibilities would be easy to implement.
1. Some kind of a slide bar (from x cp to x cp)
2. remembering the last fighting team constellation

I agree that they need to improve this area. One minor change would be to allow a notes section for each Pokémon, instead of requiring us to put all this info in the name field.

Some Tag system would be good. Something like the Gmail "labels" would be ideal! And some way of "saving" favorite teams would be also useful.

I wish the Name's were longer or we had another note line so I could put the IV in note line.

As for renaming this is how I do it
*e Thunder
*e Bolt
*e Discharge
*e Punch

As long as you don't put anything else in the name, the tiebreaker sort is by CP. So this would put all your electrics in CP order by move

It would even help if we could just reverse-sort the existing categories for quicker access to low-CP mons or ones with higher # or later in the alphabet. #notaskingmuch

What I currently do is leave out the name altogether (unless I've given it a - short - personal name) and then the following:
* for best attacking moveset
+ for second best attacking moveset
~ for best defensive moveset
! for stuff I want to evolve
Then IV level for all above 80
Then kanji (or symbol) for moveset
This works reasonably well but isn't perfect either.
So my best Victreebell is, for example
* 89 毒☀
(because I dont just use the grass kanji if it's solar beam)
No, I'm not at all obsessive...

Hi.

It should at least repeat the last team.

And when you are choosing a team go to the place where you chose the last mon, instead of going to the beginning of the list every time. Because you have to scroll down every time to the required CP level. :-(

It already does this when you change criteria of order, ie, when you change from CP to name or #, the list remains where it was before, it should be the same for team choosing in gym training.

Easy and so helpful.
