An idea for Niantic.

About the events and community days Niantic comes up with, Can't they implement some sort of timer that counts down to the end of the ongoing event? They can clearly get the location of the player, so why can't they get they corresponding time zone and implement a timer that shows how much times left for the community day.

Just a thought.

Although time zone information is available online, I'm surprised that this isn't a feature in-game. It would be convenient to have that reminder pop up when you bring up the main menu.

If possible, Niantic could take it a step further by assigning a "ticket" when a player first begins playing during a community event. The ticket would not only display the time left in the CD/event, but count as their one-time access to the community event (preventing players from spoofing to access the event multiple times).

I've seen this idea pop up many times and I love it. People say that It could've solved APAC's issues with their servers but also, it makes the event more flexible for everyone if people could choose when to start.

Let us have the CD benefits for 3 hours in a weekend using a timer, instead of forcing us to play at an exact time, or feel like we are missing out because we don’t want to devote our life to a game for a 48 hour long CD .

That's not how the spawn mechanism works- everyone sees the same spawn.

The three-hours-at-exactly-the-same-time leads to large groups of players meeting up. This gives individual players a chance for raids, trading, friend code exchange, and maybe hooking up to a local raid organization scheme. If you allow different times or even a too long period, this does not happen. I found the last weekend event sorely lacking in this regard.

I suggested something like that a while ago.
Would be so much easier instead of hunting down info on Twitter and their site, and even then not always decipherable.

I could see this. Maybe add a timer on the weather screen or something. Considering how long it took to have a timer on the raid-dar screen it might take a while
