I NEED SLEEP
This event is killing me (physically) 2h sleep on Sunday
then 4h sleep last night (tried to maximise time). Then I find out the event is extended ... Why am I such a degenerate?
The question I guess is - Anyone else PHYSICALLY suffering from this event from going too hardcore?

Exactly. Niantic told us to do a sprint. We did a sprint. After the sprint, they told us to run further, whole maraton distance.
I am really fed up with this policy. I have to organize my life. I have shifted real life activity for the 48h event. I have planned my ingame-ressources. I have organized babysitters.
What the hell are they thinking?

LOL, it's time for an intervention! This game is too addictive ;)
I, too have to blame Niantic for being such poor communicators. I had to work yesterday (like many people do on Mondays), and due too long hours (I work full time, but 3 days/week) couldn't play much; I had a suspicion they would extend the event - it happened before, right?! - but of course they wait until the last minute to announce it. I'm happy, but also really ticked off.
I hope they have some good lawyers - as a nurse, I can think of a lot of risks to players who get just a little carried away (physical:
heat stroke, dehydration, heart attack, various injuries and accudents, serious sunburns... Other: divorce, mental hospital, vehicular homicide from playing and driving, murder - OK, slightly exaggerated...)
:(
Ha you think that's bad. Saturday at 2pm I went to an articuno raid. Played til 9, went to work til 7to then played more til about 3. I slept a total of 3 hours since the event started.
I reluctantly went home because my battery was dead. Slept hard for about 9 hours. Woke up to discover the event extended 72 hours yippie!
