I'm confused here, which to evolve?
Hey guys, I'm a noob when it comes to IV and CP comparisons, so I'm using Calcy IV Calculator. I have a Treecko that I'd like to evolve. The problem is simple, I think, Im level 25 and I've caught two CP maxed out Treeckos:
- One is reading to be in the 93 percentile because it's IVs read really well (the Treecko in the pics with 754 CP).
- The other is reading out to be in the 80 percentile because it's IVs read out okay. However, this Pokemons CP is higher at 759. This is what confused me...
The Calcy Calculator reads that the 759 CP one, if evolved, will only get me a max CP of 1944. While if I evolve the 754 CP it reads that it'll yield a max CP of 1977. How is this possible? Any explanation with this would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

Normally you can only find wild pokemon with a level up to your trainer level. You can power pokemon up to your trainer level +2.
Weather boost can allow you to find wild pokemon up to 5 levels higher than your trainer level, max at up to level 35 wild for trainer level 30 or higher.
Those two were both caught with a weather boost (sunny for grass, fire, and ground). One is level 29 and the other 30. When you get up to trainer level 28, then you will be able to power up the higher IV% at level 29 to level 30, at which point it will have a higher CP.
You have to look at the individual stats, not just the overall percentage. CP is proportional to the square root of STA and DEF, but it is directly proportional to ATK. Because of this a pokemon with high IV ATK typically has higher CP than it would have with high IV DEF or STA.
Edit: Or they could be different levels. So ... one was not maxed.
