I kinda don't want this Water Event to end.....
..... BECAUSE I HAVEN'T CAUGHT A SHINYKARP YET!
Haha, approx 600 Magikarps since the event began and no shiny (yet).
But not complaining though, because apart from the lack of a ShinyKarp I've had some really great catches during this event:
93% IV Lapras, CP 2100+ (level 29), FB+IB (I couldn't freaking believe how good this catch was!) 2 100% Magikarps, level 25 & 28, and a number of other high IV and high level ones too 91% IV Blissey, level 21 (but Pound/Psychic, urgh) 2 Snorlaxes, 1 93%IV Z+EQ and the other 82% Z+HB Gyaradoses of all shapes and sizes, my best three high CP ones being an 88% Bite+Hydro, a 91% DT+O and a 84% DT/HP Also evolved a couple of nice Lanturns from all the Chinchou candy.Despite all the walking and many, many hours of play, my hatches weren't great. Ah well.
I would like this event to continue for another fortnight, please please please (and thanks) Niantic!

Over 200 Karp. More than 90 mixed catches daily on average.
1 crappy stats shiny.
No dratini, etc.(Haven't seen a dragon type in 2 weeks now.)
No Gyro, no high IV anything.
My best catch this event was a 95IV Onix! Which will soon be my first Steelix.
Other than loading up on candy and dust, this event has been a bust.
I don't want this event to end too, only got one Lapras (never seen before in the wild on my town so it was a nice catch despite having low cp and bad iv), but got two achievements during this water event, I finally have 1M stardust to do a massive power up session (it was something I really wanted to do on this game), and also I found 2 shiny magikarp, so I can't complain at all.
I wish they made those kind of biome "switching" events from time to time, once per month or so.
Well, I'm quite sure, you are playing with a map, which isnt really a problem to me, although some hardcore players will tell you different here. We have a livemap just for our city and even if I dont explicitely look at it, I am in several chats, where I will be informed, when there is a good mon. (Is that already considered cheating than?)
Anyway, I wouldnt show off as much as you do. Some catches are not really related to the event and probably you could have caught them outside of it too.
Personally I hate this event, since I already live in a water biome and have several hundreds of candy for every single water crap, that spawns now everywhere. I really miss bio-diversity and especially Eevees, Pidgeys and Dratinis. Also Snorlax was quite rare during the event, only like 10 spawned in the whole 6 days. One was a 96% Zen-HB though, but only 249 CP for everyone at Lvl 30+. :/
I dont even care for Lapras aswell, as it doesnt really have a place in the defensive meta anymore and Dragonite or Cloyster are better and more common options to take down defending D-nites.
Pretty much the same here. I decided to take a break during this event, since I live in a litoral area, got almost all water types already, so it's kinda useless to me. And I can't care less about a shiny karp.
Also, during the Valentine event I got a lot of Execcutes from hatched eggs, I guess that there is a lot of useless water types lurking in the eggs you get during this event...

Ok, you profit in almost real time from other peoples cheating without to cheat yourself.

Do you want to know what is rare? I (30kxp to lvl34) have seen 6 Snorlaxes in my whole life, 5 out of an egg, one in in wild (fled). I have seen 1 Lapras on radar, one out of an egg, and 1 Larvitar (out of an egg)
This is playing without cheating like. Not complaining about "only" 10 snorlaxes reported from spoofers within one week, one almost perfect of them unfortunately a bit small.
Its not like I got all 10 Snorlax, our map has a statistic about how often the single mons spawn. Was messaged because of the 96 one and drove there like crazy.
Well, I'm sure you would like to hear something "Oh, congratulations for being the shining example of fairness here.". But now I wonder, where is cheating starting for you? One might say, that the information isnt "clean", but would you just ignore it, when someone teils you, there is a 96 Snorlax? And if another friend that just walked by there and randomly found it, would call you at the same time, what would you do now? Did you get how difficult it is to draw a clear line between fair and cheating? I gave up on this (who am I to judge that) and as long as I am moving me ass out and catch it all by myself I would not consider myself a cheater.
Everyone should play the game in a way he enjoys, as long as he doesnt spoof/use bots imo, because that is the REAL problem of PoGo.
