I caught a solrock a half hour ago and i need help.

Is it normal when catching either solrock or lunatone and the pokeball half way opens and it stares at u while its in the pokeball or is it a secret animation?

It's a glitch that can happen when catching any pokemon, I've seen it dozens of times.
