GamePress

Hyper In-Depth Naming Convention

Just thought I'd share my madness with you all.
Hopefully it helps those of you who haven't found one or are looking for a change!

Please see the attached image. I used an image in place of copy pasting it all here to preserve the formatting and to make sure the symbols appear in every browser.

In regards to item #5, I prefer H/A/D as that's how it is in the main series games, that's the order that the appraisal is in, and that's the order that Gamepress uses 😉, but feel free to use A/D/H!

I am an Android user and Calcy IV allows me to rapidly apply these to all my Pokemon. There are ways to search symbols on iOS, but it is more tedious; hence why you apply the level at the end instead of the beginning on iOS.

My naming is some degree less elaborate than yours but makes do with the English alphabet and numbers only. I'll explain:

First I start with the typing, and I shrink this to the two letters (usually first and last but with exceptions). For example ground is Gd. Water is Wr. I used Fg for flying and Fn for fighting.

Then I put a number in order 1, 2, 3, 4, .....9, A, B, C to order my pokemon of each type, in relation to their strength compared to others of the same type

Second number, is obviously, IV

Then two letters are reserved for the charge move only (there is only ever one optimal quick move on a pokemon really. For preferential ones such as PC and Confusion, you should know yourself which one you have)

Final two numbers are for level.

This naming system goes within the limit and also allows me to order teams to see how my rosters are building up.

I think variations of my system is most practical for most folks but your way seems a bit more elegant and comprehensive perhaps.

I never use Calcy renaming, they are so complicated.

I like the type symbols, but that is because I am fluent in Chinese; most players cannot read Chinese/Japanese text.

Way too much work and investment to care.
