Hurricane/BraveBird

Liked the look of pidgeot, with two strong charge moves, hurricane and brave bird. Was prepping for a pidgey party, and had some stronger pidgeottos, so I evolved four of them to try and get these moves. 4 out of 4 came up with Aerial Ace (and ended up with professor Willow.) Was I just unlucky, (1/81 chance) or is there some buddy/evolve nonsense I don't know about. Any info appreciated.
