How would you do "Trading"

I was thinking of some compromise way between unlimited and none.

What if worked like this?

You click on a Pokemon (Say Mr. Mime) and hit trade button. You type in the name of the Trainer to send it to. It then pops up the pokedex for "what do you want in return" and you click your choice. (Say Tauros)

Meanwhile the other person sees that you offered them a Trade of Mr. Mime for Tauros. Do you accept or Deny. If accept you then pick a Tauros.

It then sends the Tauros back with a final confirmation (so the original person can preview what they getting)
If accepted viola.

Now in order to keep it from chaos and bought stuff.
You could choose a limiter

Limit 1 Trade Per Month (with anyone)
or
Limit of 2 Traders forever (between 2 specific trainers)

Most of it was a good idea until the very end there. If they were to add limits, it should be daily not monthly that's too aggressive and would piss so many people off.

I'm just not convinced trading would add value to the game. I would rather regionals/legendaries be earned/hatched/ or better yet captured in defeat at an enemy gym! It's catch 'em all...not trade 'em all!

Since they can be generated by bots a 15/15/15 Dragonite, Lapras or Snorlax with A-graded moves 25 cent, everything else zilch. Expect Pokemons to be traded on Facebook rather than Ebay.

that's why I had the limiter ideas in there.

If you could only trade 1 or 2 times with the same account ever, it would limit the spoofers.

Or perhaps the better option would be 1 or 2 trades per month. If you could only trade 1 time a month, the impact on spoofers would be limited. 12 good pokemon a year, assuming you didn't want to complete your pokedex with regionals, wouldn't make or break the balance of the game.

Unless they find a way / have the resources to do something about cheats with multiple accounts and gps spoofers it's just too open to abuse.

In keeping with the spirit of the game, trading should be proximity limited. Trainers must be within a certain distance and connect with Bluetooth to make a trade.
