How they fixed Slaking

I just caught a Slakoth and it was YAWN so slaking probably does as well

He will be a neat defender much like Snorlax is. More punishing to newbs that don’t dodge. But as an offensive option (I haven’t run many sims yet) he will be average or less in most cases. Still looking for a niche

I think snorlax may still be the better defender. Similar bulk and while his attack is large, it is easy to dodge charge moves.

Probably less than average as an attacker. Totally missing out on fast move damage hurts a lot, but he looks like an interesting defender. Play Rough undodged should easily KO Machamp/Dragonite/Tyranitar which should keep the attacker on their toes.

The only way this mon gets energy is from taking hits correct ?

yawn has 0 dmg but i'd expect it to work the same as magikarp's splash - it gets bonus dmg based on 'mons attack stat and level modified by attack cooldown, so it will still end up dealing about 3dmg per attack but thats negligible - most of it's energy will come from hits taken.
