How much worse is Close Combat than Dynamic Punch?

I evolved my first Machamp the other day and got Counter and Close Combat. He's 98% IV and 1152CP. I didn't get Dynamic Punch though. Is there any instance where Close Combat is better?
So part of my question is, should I power up my Machamp? Machamps are rare in my areas. I also have a 98%IV 341CP Machop I could try to evolve, but I only have 218 Machop Candies and only catch about 2 Machops every week.

It's a tough one. The bright side is that C/CC is pretty good, at least you didn't roll a Bullet Punch or Heavy Slam.
The down side is that Dynamic Punch is one of the few epic 2 bar charge moves. For half the energy of CC, DP does almost as much dmg, and takes only 400ms longer to deliver. So in that case I guess CC would be a bit better for dodging but to use that as an argument for CC is clutching at straws. x)
Me personally, I'd try again, but the odds are stacked against you. I'd just have to know.
I still don't have my first Machamp (~85 candies) and once I get one if I get C/CC I'd be thrilled.
C/DP and C/CC are the two movesets I would say are 'good' and would power either of these up. Especially at 98% IV. DP may be better, but C is an excellent quick move in its own right so the difference isn't too much to worry about. You'll also find that dodging Blissey's charge moves is essential while you'd waste too much DPS if you didn't use your own charge moves immediately, so CC really isn't that much worse than DP in his most useful scenario.
