How much will Slaking get nerfed?

Obviously no one has any real information yet, but considering they thought Mewtwo, a legendary, being 4600 was going to break game balance, its pretty safe to say they won't release Slaking at 5400. Will it still be a top tier pokemon though, on par with tyranitar and dragonite? Just curious about other people's thoughts.

There are probably several ways they could nerf Slaking. The first obvious option is to manually adjust its base stats like they did with Mewtwo. Additionally though, instead of giving it moves like Zen Headbutt that would counter fighting type attackers, they could give it dark moves that would be resisted by fighting.

Just put double the cooldown on all of his quick moves...and maybe even charge moves too.

That way, he is basically skipping every second attack.

It would also reflect how truant, slakings inability to attack every other turn (stating this for those that haven't played the main series, not you aSp), would make slaking vulnerable

Or give it a moves that only slaking could learn, like giga impact?

I was really disappointed when they added the speed stat, but just made it a simple multiplier that affected the base attack and base defense stats. Such a missed opportunity to make speed affect the duration of moves so faster glass cannons could hit faster and dodge easier while slower tanks would hit slower. Would make it feel really different when using pokemon with different speeds.

Give it slower moves. There are already moves in the game files from gen 2 that are have not been given to any Pokemon currently such as Water Gun (Blastoise) and Hydro Pump (Blastoise), Giga and Mega Drain.

If they were intending to give Blastoise moves specifically for it - just different animation I'm guessing - even though it hasn't been implemented, the same could be done for Slaking. Give it moves that are specific to it that represent it's Truant ability (which only it's evolution tree has) rather than just nerf its stats.

The same can't really be done for Mewtwo, there are other Pokemon that can learn it's moves and have the same ability in the main series, with the exception of one move, Psystrike.

It's all good-I didn't know know that eirher until I got him as an option on one of Pokémon showdown's randomized playlists, it's definitely inferior to hustle lol

can't remember the formula for defense and effective bulk is time out as big and issue for slaking as it was for Blissey? if so moveset changes may not cut it. it's still going to be an unbalanced mon.

If habilities aren't implemented, I would cut his ATK in half. Specific slower moves for him would be a good idea too.
