How much damage is my Def actually negating?

Howdy internet, so google hasn't seemed to understand the question and the links I come across mostly lead me to the flooring equations for damage and the equations to calculate out the actual Def number.

So if anyone could provide the formulas to calculate how much damage the Def is actually negating or a link to it, it would be much appreciated!
