How much better is Bodyslam than Hyper Beam?
Today I hatched a 13-15-14 Zen-HB Snorlax. Of course this looks like a No-Brainer to power up. However I just powered up my 2 other Zen-Body Snorlax with IVs around 80 for both, which already took me ages. I was planning to max out a 14-12-5 Zen-Body Snorlax after those two guys, but he is only at 1,2k CP.
It will most likely take me another 3-5 months to gather enough candy to power up both, so which one should I focus on first? Is BS alone worth the difference in terms of IV and candy requirement?
I tend to say "yes" but would love to hear your thoughts folks!

In my experience they're the same. Body Slam is good bc it has a higher chance of connecting but Hyper Beam does lots of damage regardless and Snorlax has high enough stamina to get out two during the battle.
To answer your question, yes I'd go with Body Slam because it's legacy and players are less comfortable with facing a Body Slam Lax. If you feel that it's taking quite some time then there's nothing wrong with the HB one
Try fighting a BS snorlax versus HB snorlax, which one would you prefer?
I hate the BS snorlax. It came suddenly (and sometimes consecutively) and if I miss a dodge, it is going to be really painful.
That's being said, I have a ZH/HB Snorlax maxed out too. So far I have not fight a HB Snorlax in Gym, so I do not know how much damage can it cause even if I dodge it. But do note that phones sometimes can lag. A couple of times, my phone lag at the time I am supposed to dodge... so well... get hit by Snorlax's HB is no joke.
I think at the end of the day, for defender Snorlax, it is about how irritating it is. It wouldn't stop attackers... so the in the current gym meta, sitting high up in the gym is probably more important.
Based on my past decision, yes I will power up your HB Snorlax. You can use it as an attacker too.
