How many mons can you actually catch in 24 hours?

I’ve been looking around and seeing a lot of people saying the most mons you can catch in 24 hours is 500 and you get shadow banned but I’m also hearing that people are saying that’s not the case and they have been catching more then 500 mons.. So which is it???

Don't know how you can catch that many in a day. If you play 8 hours a day, that works out to be about one every minute. A trainer must be swimming with mons all around him, and full of pokeballs.

Even if you have the stamina and time to play 24 hours, that would be about 1 every 3 mins! Not including time needed to replenish the bag.

I didn’t mean a full 24 hours of just playing, I’m saying if you catch 500 mons in less then 24 hours you get shadow banned for the rest of that day atleast that’s what people are saying. But I’m also hearing people are catching more then 500 mons in less then 24 hours and there saying there not getting shadow banned and they seem pretty confident that the limit for a day is not just 500 mons.

I just want to see which is correct and where exactly people got this 500 mon limit info from. I think I saw something a while back about it but don’t remember if it was exactly coming from niantic or someone on SR.

I asked that question a few days ago. It hasn't happened to me yet. I spent at least one day playing more than 8 hours this event. I went to a spot very rich in spawns and stops. While I don't know exactly how many mons I caught. I can say that I've generated roughly 1.2 million star dust. I'm right on track for 2 million this event.

Just read your post now. I’m with asp on this one.. until we actually get a definitive answer, I’m not gonna assume that 500 mons is the limit until someone either test it out or we get results on it from silph road, game press or a actual answer from niantic.

How would you know if you caught 500 pokemon on a given day? from what I've see if you catch a lot in a day, they start disappearing from your journal log.
