How many Mons can one keep powering up to max, assuming lvl 20 starting point
Wondering how many pokemons can one keep powering up to the max level, assuming all leveled from level 20 (e.g. egg hatch). The higher the level, the more dust required. So maybe only a few pokemon can follow you to the end.

So at level 36, is maxing out a hatched mon pretty much out of the question? I'm level 32 thanks to the event and I'm guessing it would be over 100,000 for me to do so.
It will be sad when gen 2 comes out and high level players hatch all these cool new mons with high ivs and are unable to power them.
I REALLY hope they raise the egg lvl cap. It will be hard enough to get what you want with so many available.
Honestly bro, pretty much. And that's coming from someone who probably hatches more eggs than 99.9% of all players. Between keeping current mons leveled and training up the occasional hatchling, it's weeks of work for just a handful at this point. Unless something changes with the Stardust rewards or we keep getting double Stardust weekends, it's just damn near impossible.
I REALLY like your idea of raising egg hatching levels. That alone would keep a player/Consumer of incubators like me more inclined to keep grinding.
TBH I like having the eggs stay at 20 as it is one way to keep lower (+20) level players in the game.Having said that, I like the idea of double dust weekends or events to keep higher leveled players able to power up mons. Balance is always an issue with any game, I'm not sure if keeping eggs lvl20 would help or not but the game would die if you had to reach lvl30+ before being relevant in my opinion.
I am level 29 and I only power up the level 20 hatched pokémons, so I have been able to carry full powered like 15 pokémons, 7 for attack and 8 for defense, but I am planning to stop doing that in the next level and just keep saving dust and powering other pokémons from level 20 to 31, because going after level 30 is a great waste of effort. The increase of CP is halved and the cost of dust and candy is really high.
So I just make sure that all my pokémons are top IV's because that way, at level 30 they are the equivalent of a bad IV's level 40 pokémons (and that's ok for me).
I will only keep powering up to the last level my 80% Ditto just for fun
