How many Lick Gengars are you keeping?

So I did 13 Gengar raids (and got lucky with 3 shinies!) and evolved a 100% Gastly. So.... now what? Should I keep them all?

I have a feeling that the trade value of these Gengars will be pretty low, since so many people did a ton of raids today. Am I wrong on this? How many Gengars are you keeping?

Caught 6, evolved 3. I'll keep the best four, including one shiny. May power up a couple, my 96% and one lucky. I already have 3 shadow claw gengar...

As of right now you are correct to say the trade value will be low.

In a few weeks or months when new players start or old players return just after the fact there could be a number of people looking for a good gengar. It is unknown when lick will return. I would keep every single exclusive move on meta relevant mons as possible.

Unfortunately there us really no way to know and what could be very rare in one town or city could be common place a 30 miles down the road.

the thing with gengar is he can do super high dmg and make a real impact on raid boss HP,however it requires a lot of dodging which means generally most people dont use gengars or, most of the time, even know how super useful gengar is. Furthermore the fact that shadow claw is no longer attainable and most likely never will be, means that having a gengar with lick will be the best ghost pokemon for a long time. Giratina didnt get shadow ball, and anyone lacking a sclaw gengar most likely have to rely on dark dps mainly or a sball mewtwo if they have one. This is something people may not realize they need, but they really do. Sclaw still does more dmg in more difficult raid battles, but in a t4 or t3 situation or less, where you are able to get off atleast 3 shadow balls, lick will be better than sclaw in most situations, which says something. i think all lick gengars should be saved, its truly an amazing moveset combo. The number one charge move in the game with one of the highest energy gain fast moves in the game, PERFECT combo, and it is truly a great pokemon practically speaking as long as the trainer can use it effectively.

Raided 8, evolved enough to have 27, more than half of them are junk IVs specifically for trading away (already had legendary trades lined up before the event) while the others are great ivs, including a 100% raid catch and max attack shiny. From what i've seen they have very high trade value, Giratina's currently a raid boss with low attack so gengar lasts a lot longer and its a lot less cost intensive than the high DPS dragons

ill keep probably 8-10 at most, as ill never likely need any more than that and the candy cost will be enormous.

I've evolved 5 I've saved before the event. I catched a 98% one and the rest I trade them (I've got all with terrible IVs lol) and I'll keep one for a friend who couldn't get any Gengar today.
- 6 for an entire Lick Gengar team.
- 1 for trade.

Of eight catches and 2 evolves, I'm currently keeping 4. (Have 2 previous well-powered double ghost Gengar and 4 high quality SB Mewtwo. Not hurting for Ghost power.).

I just keep it for now untill my bag force me to throw some again. Then trade it with my team mate if they want to.
Otherwise, the not so great go to the profesor

I max out 1 lick just to compare to my shadow claw.

About trade-in value... I guarantee somebody will post here complaining how he never got lick Gengar.

I caught 2 x 93 IV Weather boosted and one 96 IV non boosted. I will keep then, unless i will get better from trade( 11 spare to trade). I evolved 4 lucky and 4 non-lucky 91-98 IV. I will max all lucky with IV 91 or 87+ 15 Attack. I have one average IV SC and, sadly, 1 maxed hundo with Hex. I will make at least 1 full Gengar party( to kill all with their smiles :D)

I kept all 16 Gengar I caught and evolved a few Gastly I had on hand as well. Will probably trade them all away bar a couple of the higher IV ones.

I’ll keep 6 with Shadow Ball, 3 with Sludge Bomb, 2 with the raid day charged move. Highest IVs Shadow Ball then Sludge and the worst ones for Psychic.

I caught 25 and evolved 16. I'll keep all the ones I evolved for now, although I might cull them to 12 eventually. The raid catches all had bad IVs so I'll swap them with friends, except for the shinies.
