How long did you wait until you bought a go plus?

How long did you grind the game without a go plus and how far did you get before purchasing one if you did or has anyone played the game without a go plus this whole time like myself?

Just hit level 35 a night ago and never used a go plus but definitely thinking about possibly purchasing one soon.

I got to lvl36 before getting a Go+ for a present about a month ago.

Ayee the grind is real lol. Has it been helping out more that you have one now or is it about the same as when you didn’t have one? What are your pros and cons on it in your opinion?

On my drive to work I have it running for pokestops only, picks up about 60% of the pokestops. I click the blue button and it registers successful about 60% of those tries. Besides conserving some battery on a walk, the extra pokestops is a main draw. It can buzz through red balls, sometimes it'll catch 5 or 6 in a row, sometimes miss 3 in a row. Main deal is to use great and ultra balls when you manually throw at pokemon.

My fav part is that I can lock the phone and still walk thorugh a shopping centre or public space, collecting stops the whole time with discretion.
Getting to take my head out of the phone without missing anything is it's most redeeming feature.

It is more convenient for sure, except that I am forever running low of pokeballs - but I guess it is a good problem to have as it means I am catching lots.

I do find myself clearing clusters that I might normally be more selective with - only 1 ball per pokemon and guaranteed at least 25xp per ball encourages clearing the cluster of commons more than the manual method ever did.

Spinning stops the instant they become available again and catching while you battle in a raid, or take down a gym - it just makes everything that little bit more efficient.

Interesting, so you were level 35 when we had that discussion about Alakazam raids. Do you mass evolve or did you bubblestrat under the old system?

I got mine in mid-May, started playing a week after launch. I was a good gym/stardust/coin earner in the Spring. Pretty necessary for me now. At the start I cared about what I was trying to click catch...at this point it could be an unown and I'd probably still press the button. However, to be honest I've only caught 1 dratini on it, a Miltank, an Ursaring--everything else far as I can remember has been trash...certainly threw those away, too

See in that situation, which is one thing they should do is allow a go plus to do/use great and ultra balls. It shouldn’t just be regular poke balls.

(I think someone mentioned it on another post on here or it might of been from sr reddit, don’t remember.)

I wish i had it earlier and so far so fun!

I bought it when I was level 38 and a half for me, like two months ago. Now I am 500k away from level 40. Definitely very useful for when you need a ton of xp to level up and during events. Also love the feature that you can catch mon with the plus while mass evolving.

The bad things, if you don't live on a highly populated area with a ton of stops the plus will literally eat your balls and the capture rate is not that high (like 30% for me?). Also you will experience random disconnects and it might get frustrating to pair it again and again if you are on a long session.

On the other hand it is also useful for the current game where most of people just drives from raid to raid and you can catch and spin stops with the go plus improving a lot the safety (have seen many people near to have a car accident while trying to play driving...very bad...). I just normally walk so I have not that problem at all.

The Go Plus has got a lot of room for improvement, but is absolutely amazing in farming stardust. My daily catch range from the Go Plus alone is estimated to be 30 to 60 Pokemon, and slightly less for stops. It's a must for dedicated players.

I'm level 38 since yesterday. No go plus

I'm level 39, and have never had a go+, although I've considered it, and would have no problem using it if someone gave me one as a present.

I'm thinking about it, almost did it during an event where it was sold.

The thing is, I like to think I'm a free player, but you're not a free player anymore if you buy a GO+...

Level 39 and 45 000 captures still no pogo plus. You can got easily 210 xp each throw.

I'm a real Pokemon trainer and don't need an assist-tool which is that expensive.

lol 35 bucks is not expensive.

Relatively speaking, for something that does something in the background, yes it is.

35 bucks so one can play all day with out playing all day is pretty cheap. Easily the best money one can spend on this game.

So you're playing...not to play?
Gotcha.
And so did Niantic with their device.

Catching common mons is extremely repetitive, boring, and time consuming but it needs to be done for dust so why not have the plus do it. With the plus I earn between 15k-20k dust a day from catches with out ever looking at my phone.

I got to lvl 36 and bought the Plus this Sunday. Only because I will be at the Safari event on Saturday, the gain is way too big to skip. I'm also looking forward to not staring at the screen as much while walking.

Never paid real money in the game yet either. :-)

Level 36, bought one and used it for one day, to realize my area isn't suitable for plus users. Way too few stops to make it work. Haven't touched it ever since.

Another one bites the dust..

Level 36, no go plus. Since interacting more with other players due to raids, I've considered it but am happy with game play the way I am so if it's not broke, don't fix it :)

Level 38 with no go plus. I plan to reach 40 without the device. It should be possible seeing how I have already completed a good 65% of the game

Made it to level 38 without Go Plus, I bought it about a few weeks ago and it makes a massive difference in accumulating dust. I would highly recommend it.

Got a gift card for Amazon, decided to get a PoGo Plus - this was more than a year after I started playing.

When it works, I love it. It means that I can keep my bag full without risking getting a ticket as I spin stops while driving, mostly. I don't try to catch Pokémon with it much as I'm finding it's not good enough at that to be worth the lost balls. (though I don't have enough of a sample size to be sure of that determination)

Overall, I like it - WHEN IT WORKS. Which is maybe 3 days a week. As soon as there is a network error, it seems to drop and not reconnect for literally days. The last time I was able to use it was Sunday, so this is the third day without it in a row - again.

Honestly? It's been more of an aggravation for me than a help. There is very little help for it online that I can find beyond "Remove it from Pokémon Go. Close Pokémon Go. Unpair it from your device. Turn off the Bluetooth. Reboot the phone. Turn on Bluetooth. Pair the device. Turn on Pokémon Go. Press the button to have it show up. Reconnect it in Pokémon Go. If this doesn't work, try it again and again until it works."

Maybe it's a phone issue. Maybe it's a ISP issue (I have a meh ISP and a meh phone that regularly loses connection to the ISP for between 1 second and 1 minute). Maybe if the PoGo Plus is unexpectedly disconnected from the server, it gets an error and won't reconnect for days. I dunno. But it's aggravating.

Level 36. I love it!

Pros:
- Great for farming stardust and candy.
- Especially helpful when it rains.
- Keeps my face out of my phone when I'm around other ppl.

Cons:
- Missing the good pokemon you would have taken time to berry and catch. Pretty rare, but sad when it happens.
- Only uses Pokeballs. Option to use Great balls would be nice.
- Prioritizes pokemon over pokestops. Would be nice if you could choose priority.
- Disconnecting is more frequent/random than you'd think. Some days it's pretty bad.
- Seems to trail behind me while I walk with the screen locked. Sometimes I have to stand at a pokestop for a while before the Plus finds it.

Overall, a great help in your 30's!

Got one at level 37. Game changer if your goal is to gather stardust, BUT it also gives you no excuse for unsafe driving habits.

I've already red a lot of advertising before about it.
And yes, i've seen people very happy with go+.

It was July 18, soon after I reached level 36 (I keep a PoGo log, how bad is that?). Level 37 now, closing in on 38, which is easier thanks to the Plus.

Until the new gyms started dropping pokeballs I was constantly running out (even having to buy them sometimes, which I hated) and the Plus was therefore not practical. But since I've had it I have loved it (except when it refuses to connect.... but that's another topic).

I would recommend it highly to anyone in the high 30's to help you gain XP (and dust, glorious dust!) faster. FTP, I respect you, and this is something worthwhile you could save your gym coins for (or just spend the cash... it's not that much, and you won't regret it).
