How to handle GPS jumps?
Hey guys, I'm reading this forum for a while now, but this time I have a question myself (Sorry if my English is not perfect). I'm a legit Valor Player, my device is a iPhone 6s Plus with iOS 9.3.5 if that matters.
It happend for the first time today. I was playing at the car while driving(I was not the driver), when suddenly my character "teleported" anywhere. There was no brigde/tunnel or bad Internet connection so no obvious reason for me why it happened. Even if the name of the nearby mystic gyms would be interesting to know where I was, I tapped on nothing and immedeately closed the game. I wainted about 5 minutes and then go back in the game. Location was right again and I was able to catch the mons nearby and spin stopps. So at least I got no Softban.
Question is: Was my reaction right? And is there a reason to worry about getting banned now?
Thanks for your help :)

And even if one did spawn, it's not like it was your fault the teleporting happened. GPS is sometimes inaccurate and it's probably happened to everyone at some point at least once.
I've spun a few stops because of this GPS teleporting error and I haven't been banned. Niantic are most likely aware this happens sometimes so they're not going to ban anyone for small jumps, but if the next second you teleport to another country, then that's definitely spoofing. Teleporting a few meters isn't.
Chill my friend. It does happen from time to time. I can even spin stops and catch Pokémon when GPS drifts or jumps happen. I believe it still depends on the distance. Suddenly teleporting to the other side of the world and spinning stop might be a problem but an area near you is pretty much safe. I also observed that most of the spots I teleported to are the ones I stopped earlier so probably its in the cache? e.g. Gym Battle, Gas stations and Stops. Nevertheless, salute for being legit. Have fun with the rock event!
