GamePress

How Groudon will change the meta

So gamepress and silph road have different stats for our newest legendary. This site has 297/276/200 and silph road has 270/251/182.

I presume Silph has it right? Even so, with Solar Beam and Fire Blast I wonder if it'll be a top tier grass and fire attacker. And it's obviously the best ground attacker.

STAB's a big deal. We already have strong options for fire in the form of Moltres and Entei -- I doubt Groudon will come close.

Grass might be less cut-and-dry, but I think because of Eggy's STAB bonus, Eggy will still remain top grass DPS.

Definitely best Ground attacker though, for sure.

Gamepress have adjusted their figures to the same stats now so I'm going to assume those are indeed the correct ones.

Please don't tell me they nerfed the best legendary trio, please! Please don't tell me my favorite legendary Kyogre has to be treated like this, Please Acreus!

Unfortunately the game needs this. We can't have the legendaries with super high stats also be so easy to obtain!

They are LEGENDARY Pokemon, they don't deserve all of these nerfs and they are not easy to obtain. The game forces us to drive all the way into town, find a legendary raid, then try to get people to come to it through an uncoordinated discord group, then pray that enough people will come, and if all of that succeeds then we are only granted a chance at catching the legendary. If it breaks free from all of your balls, then you have to repeat the whole process over and over again until you finally catch it. If all of is easy for you then that's your opinion, however I am sure that most people can agree that legendaries take some effort to get so they are more than deserving of their true stats.

In Singapore (where DragoniteSlayer and I are from), the average residential town (population 100k-200k, area ~10sqm) has one or two legendary raids per hour, with large crowds virtually guaranteed (at least in the first five minutes).

Without a nerf, Mewtwo, Slaking and Groundon would completely break the meta. There is a reason why most legendaries are banned from Smogon battles.

See that's the thing, they are banned, not nerfed. If Niantic thinks they are too powerful to be used in raids then ban them don't nerf them.

STAB. And resistance. Fire and grass are two of the most competitive types in the game.

What meta? You don't really need strong maxed pokemon to clear gyms, especially now with weather boosts. Even Blissey is like paper.
