How good is piloswine?
Swinhub is really rare in my area and I have only caught two so far, finally have a nest this migration and was wondering how good piloswine actually is in battles against dragonites? The nest is a little out of the way so apart from filling my Dex wondering if I should try and get one with ideal moves to use as a dragonite counter. Thanks

Powder snow builds energy fast, and avalanche hits reasonably hard.
Ice Shard deals more damage, building energy more slowly. In combination with avalanche, both quick moves have nearly identically cycle-damage output.
Piloswine is a bit of a glass cannon, though.
Piloswine has well balanced stats. If you call it a glass cannon, how do you call cloyster and jynx, the two other ice-options besides lapras?
If you are good at dodging, I think it is a good dragonite counter.
If you dodge at least one special, you can take down one dragonite almost for sure. There are no special dodging skills neccesairy.
Only if you do simulations where Pswine waits to use its charge move until Dnite has charged. It will then waste a lot of energy and damage by using Powder Snow for a long time (PS almost instantly charges the bar).
It's definitely not a big difference in damage output, but my experience is opposite from yours. I find PS/A to be better, letting me use the finishing Avalanche sooner, and therefore winning quicker.
I've used Pswine a lot bacause I have around 30 of them, if that counts for anything.
I use a 1800 CP Piloswine with Powder snow and Avalance as my standard Dragonite killer. I typically use it in a way that I allow both bars to fill up completely, fire a single Avalance, and after the bar has refilled I fire two Avalances in quick succession. In most cases the Dragonite never manages to fire even a single charge move.
