I have an old Metagross leveled up but it has flash cannon, so after the CD I was wondering if I should make him a psychic attacker instead, I have enough Metagross with MM.
If you can’t use Meteor Mash you might as well use Psychic, I guess. It’s not a very good psychic attacker, it doesn’t resist fighting and even when psychic is super effective, meteor mash often out performs it, I think the only situation where psychic would be better is windy weather.
I have a 96% with psychic moves from before CD. Sad day.
Not good. To put in perspective, Meteor mash is better against machamp, and anything else weak to psychic but doesnt resist steel for offense. ITs a good bulky machamp or gengar counter with psychic, but aside from that, not much notable, most psychic attackers, even psychic mewtwo, arent too good for anything but machamp or gengar countering (metagross might be more useful againt gengar if its got sludge bomb, but is most cases, other coutners are better because metagross is weak to both fast moves and shadow ball)
Actually, that's not a bad idea. I too have a hard-earned pre-CD Metagross with BP/FC, which is pretty much useless. Now that I have three Metagross with BP/MM, it's hard to envision ever using the one with FC, whereas it might have the occasional niche use as a psychic attacker.
Unfortunately, ZH and P are pretty crappy psychic moves.
That is exactly the problem, ZH and Psychic are really bad moves. If it was Confusion and/or Psyshock, then it would be a different, very fresh Psychic defender and even attacker (in the main series it can learn both of these moves), but Niantic decided to purposely nerf it with the worst Psychic moves ever.
