How did you get an exclusive raid pass ? (at a non-sponsored gym)
I would like to know if exclusive raids are chosen randomly or can be induced.
I suspect that exclusive raids happen when a significant number of player participated to a single raid on the gym.
Please indicate if possible:
- Date of the exclusive raid.
- Date for receiving the exclusive pass.
- Date of the raid that you have done to get the pass. characterisitic of the raid:
- Tier
- Number of people that have participate.
- Were the players from the ex-raid the same than the ones from the raid that you suspect induced the ex-raid? Other people?
- Any other information that seems relevant.

tl;dr, none of this matters.
They've randomized it, with the exception of moving the targets around according to whatever they are testing, from sats to weds, thurs to tues, weekday lunch to weekend night, 2 weeks prior to 3 days prior, from sprint, to starbucks, to other sponsored, to non-sponsored, to suburbs, high traffic to low traffic, to level 1s to high level raids. some ppl even got a subsequent pass on the next go around at the same gym because they participated in an ex raid there.
Still, I have not seen anybody receiving an ex-raid for a gym it had soloed or done with a few other players.
That would also be sad to bet the only one to receive and ex-raid and no be able to beat the boss on your own.
All the testimonies that I have gathered yet refer to a raid where there was a high level of participant (30+).
I would like to check if it is a coincidence or an inducing factor.
Maybe the magikarp one was lucky that a few days after his raid, a massive raid happened on the same gym, triggering the Mewtwo apparition.
Was the magikarp raider the only one at the mewtwo raid? or was there a massive number of players? have those players attended the same raid? That is the kind of information that I am seeking
How many showed up to the ex-raid? 3 only?
You probably received the invite for another raid that you did previously on that gym. Do you remember doing another raid at that local gym with the 2 other players that receive the invite?
That proves that raiding the gym after the inducting raid will not give you an ex-raid. (otherwise the other 5 would also have received the pass)
Nope. That’s wrong. First EX raid around our area was at a smal park that I raided within 4 weeks and I didn’t get a pass. Second ex raid was sponsored gym that I raided 4+ weeks prior and I got a pass. Latest round this weekend is at two parks I raided within a week of ex raid pass invite.
It can’t be induced. And they are definitely testing crowd size and time.
The one EX raid I went to (on September 30th) had many more people invited than ever participated in any single prior raid there. The most recent raid I had done at that gym was a Tyranitar a few days before receiving the EX pass, with around 10 other people, but we had around 30 at the Mewtwo raid, plus some others who couldn't make it.
As far as I know, everyone who had ever raided at that gym before got invited, and no single specific raid was a trigger. It wasn't one of the more heavily used gyms in the area either, just a random church with average traffic.
