How close are you to the starter evolutions

So sadly I saw not very many todadiles during the water event but I have managed to catch a good cp wild croconaw so I was wondering how much progress do all you guys have towards the 6 starter evolution. I have a Charizard, Blastoise, Venusaur, and Meganium. But sadly I have 30 candies left on Croconaw and about 55 candies left for Cyndiquill.

Need Typhlosion, Charizard and Feraligator. Got virtually no Totodiles during water event unfortunately.

I have 4 Meganiums. All except the one with 24% IVs that I caught in the wild have meh movesets. Chikorita re everywhere around here.

I have evolved one Typlosion with the comical moveset of Shadow Claw and Solar beam. You can have him if they are rare for you. What a piece of junk.

Totodiles are not rare here but they aren't that common either. I evolved one to Feraligator and got WG/HP so I am waiting for a high CP/decent IV one to evolve next.

Most of all of these candies except the ones for Chikorita were acquired during the recent event. If not for that event I may have only evolved Meganium.

Only need Feraligatr. 75 candies to go...not sure I understand their reasoning for not making Totodile part of the water event. I caught a couple for the water event, but for comparison I piled up about 150 Chikorita candies during the grass event and I worked every day...

Got All! 3 Venusaur, over 300 candies.
2 Charizard (trash moveset) and 235 candies, waiting for a charmender >90IV (have an 84 and an 82).
1 Blastoise, 285 candies but i don't mind because fire pokemon are not common in my meta.
2 Meganium and 553 candies
2 Typhlosion and 250 candies
1 Feraligatr and 517 candies

20 candies until Charizard, 2 Meganiums from farming nests, one decent Blastoise and transferred a couple with bad movesets, one Venusaur, hatched a Totodile during the Egg event with just enough candy to evolve it, no decent Cyndaquil and few candies.

I got the gen 1 starters before Christmas (have at least a few of each now), but for gen 2 I only have Meganium (couple actually, and enough candy for potentially a couple more), largely courtesy of a Chikorita nest a few migrations ago and the grass event helped as well. The same location is a Chikorita nest again, this migration, so will likely get even more.

Totodile, I have about 100 candies. Cyndaquil, about 50.

I decided a long time ago I wasn't going to rush gen 2, so I'm just going to fill in the gaps when convenient, even ignored a Totodile nest which was a little out of the way for me. I know I'll get them eventually.

Yeah I got the all three of the gen 1, just before the starter event I evolved my first charizard. For generation 2 I caught a Typhlosion with Shadow Claw / Overheat 35 IVs, level 28, plan to take it to level 30. Totdile I have 63 candies mainly from the event, and as for Chikoria, I have 102 candys and 52 CP Bayleef.

  • 4 Venusaur: Bulba is the most common where I live.
  • 3 Blastoise: caught one in the wild. I'd have candies to evolve another, but I'm happy with my WG+HP one already.
  • 1 Charizard: I only recently got this one (last mon for my Gen 1 dex), Charmander are really rare here. Planning on maxing her out.
  • 4 Meganium: got two in the wild, and evolved two both with VW+SB! I'd have candies for another two.
  • 2 Feraligatr: both with HP, one for attacking and one for prestiging.
  • 2 Typhlosion: I'd still be grinding for this one if I hadn't got a Cyndaquil nest near home and collected 550 candies there.

I have 2 meganium, one I caught in the wild during the event. 2 venasaurs, one I caught in the wild before the event. 2 Blastoise but had caught acouple in the wild during events and at random. 3 feraligator, one I caught in the wild with 87% iv's (that was a good day). 2 typlosions, one I caught in the wild but both had horrible movesets and 2 charizards, one I got during the starter event but horrible moveset.

Charizard and typlosion are the hardest to obtain for me since there pretty rare in my biome/area. Which is unfortunate since Charizard was my favorite starter Pokémon and what makes it worse is the one I still have had the best moveset at the time before gen2 released...

Same as you, I'm missing Typhlosion and Feraligator. Eggstravaganza event was great to get their previous evolutions and good IV candidates. Funny thing is that living in a water biome, don't ever see wild totodile and they were rare during the water event. Perhaps totodile doesn't belong to a water biome?

Hmm, you should wait until the gym rework before investing anything. It could change your mind about what you want to do.

Just need Typhlosion. My only halfway decent Cyndaquil is a 73%, which I don't think I'll want to waste that much candy on anyway.

I get way too many Chikorita in this area, but I usually throw pineaps at it anyway. Evolved 5 and caught two of them. Not that they would have been really useful, but every single of them ended up with Earthquake. FML.

Oh and of the three Feraligatr's... all three have freaking Crunch.

I'm starting to think they're just holding back the good movesets for gen 2 starters until gen 3.

I got them all except for Typhlosion. I got two Cyndaquil to evovle. I got 103 candy. I'm almost there.

I have multiples of all of them, except Typhlosion, just one there. Terrible moves all around except Blastoise, which got ideal. Still not good for anything. Starters are underwhelming in general.

If Blastoise had gotten pre-nerf Bubble, he'd be a solid fighter... that would still be pointless for placing in any gyms.

That's the place Niantic most dropped the ball.. None of the starters are relevant, except for maybe Venusaur against Vaporeon.

I need a Dragon Scale and an Unown to complete my dex.

9 Venasaur...could make 4 more (thanks event)
3 Charizard...waiting on candy for 100% Charmander
2 Blastoise...can make 2 more and have nest nearby
1 Typhlosion...can do another
1 Feraligator
1 Meganium...can make 3 more (thanks event)

18 Charizards. :)

Most of the candies were from a Charmander nest and the starter event. I think at one point i was catching Charmanders exclusively at 60-80 of them a day!

Got the rest of the starter evos and yes I have the best moveset Shadow Claw-Solar Beam Typhlo, LOL.

Similar to the OP. Have the Gen 1 starters and Meganium. Getting closer with Totodiles, but still need LOTS of Cyndaquils.

Thanks to a nice cyndaquil nest (thanks, TSR), I was able to evolve two typhlosions, CP 2315/male and CP 1504/female (females are rare, which is why I wanted one of each). The only starter evolution I was missing was feriligator.

When I finally had enough candies, I made a really dumb noob mistake (never mind I was level 33 at the time) and didn't pay attention to the stats of the croconaw I was evolving....

.... and ended up with a CP 912/level 12.5 feriligator that's not even useful for prestiging! Ouch.

He was good for the dex entry, but I'm back to square one. With 6 totodile candies, it's be a long time until I get a chance at another.
