How can I catch ditto to complete special research?
Ditto never appers so how can my event be completed. Is it in the other pokemon's form

Ditto won't reveal itself until you've caught the Mon it's disguised as in the wild. So your best shot is to just keep catching Mons until you get lucky and get one that happens to be a Ditto. For reference, these are the Mons that can be a Ditto in disguise:
Rattata
Pidgey
Zubat
Gastly
Yanma
Sentret
Hoothoot
Whismur
Taillow
Zigzagoon
Gulpin
Yes, berries aren't an option when catching Mew. But part of the reward package for catching Mew was an additional 20 Mew candies. Maybe double candy jacks that up to 40 candies?
Even if it does, however, there's no reason to power up Mew (unless the Celebi quest has a task, 'Power Mew up to level XX' or something like that).

Another site had similar references which were the only ones I looked for and caught while never catching a Ditto, but I caught one tonight disguised as a Mankey. Perhaps those are the most frequent forms Ditto takes or it is just an RNG game.
