How bad is this Blissey?

Just evolved my second Blissey and got the two worst move sets for defending. My overall game is starting to suffer without having a Blissey and at this point in time I just want to have one to put in gyms.

The Blissey is 1790cp with 84% iv. The stats are 12 attack, 13 stamina, and 13 defense. Moveset is Pound/Psychic.

It will probably take me at least another 2 months to make another Blissey. I just wondered if this one I have is worth powering up and putting into a gym.

What cp and ivs is your first blissey? I would probably max that one out first depending on how many candy you have remaining. And I would power up your second blissey over evolving a 3rd one no point wasting 50 candy..

I feel like my first Blissey is even worse. It's 84% iv with 1237cp. The stats are 10 attack, 15 stamina, 13 defense. It has zen headbutt and psychic. I don't have any Blissey candy. I literally get a Chansey once every 2 months.

Yeah in that case I would power up your second one for sure. Going to take along time to get candies tho then! It's same with me chancey was my last one for my first gen Dex and even during valentines it was a rare spawn. Best to have one powered up blissey than 3 low ones that are useless tho movesets aren't that important imo

Pound+Psychic is actually a better moveset than ZH+Psychic If you're going to power one up, I'd go with that one.

P+P has a better chance to KO Machamp since fighting-type attackers won't be dodging Pound. With Psychic's early damage window, many Machamp will get hit with it and KO'd.

With ZH+P, attacking Machamp are dodging every attack so they won't fall victim to Psychic.

You know the worst Blissey moves is still better than any runner-up Pokemon for defense. Also Psychic is super effective versus Machamp, so it isn't as bad as it seems. If they use Tyranitar... well then PFFT.

I wouldn't worry so much about movesets since they can change and probably will change with the gym rework and possibly Psychic becoming a two bar charge move again...

With Blissey, you really want 15 ATT if possible. I also think unless you can max them out or at least high enough to be gym usable, you're better off not evolving them at all since they are too slow to attack with (unless you are into that) and having a low CP Blissey is useless IMO. Prior to the V-day event, I actually walked a Chansey over 200km to get enough candies (I had up to 230+ prior to the v-day event) to power one up to my max level...

I also finally hatched a Larvitar and since I don't even have the candies to evolve it yet, I plan to just keep walking it till I can amass 200 or so candies to take it to at least level 30...That'd probably take me 2 months I'd guess...

I got a reasonably big pile of Chansey candy from the Valentine's day event. I evolved my four best Chansey when gen 2 came out, and powered up the top two. I picked based on their attack IV ~14 and current level. This gives me two Blisseys that sit in gyms, not at the bottom and not at the top (a good spot for Blisseys). They aren't guaranteed to hold gyms, but seem to stay longer than anything else I could put. From the attack side, I know a X/DG blissey will cost me some more potions than others, but any Blissey is a pain in the ass, but not unbeatable.

Anyway, I'd roll with what you've got already.

I love all of the Blisseys whose IV are greater than 86.7. I don't care the movesets. A CP of greater than 2800 Blissey in gym is definitely a tank. It would mess up most of the less than 27lel traniners.

The 'worst' moveset on a Blissey is still a massively better defender than anything else in the game.

Take your second to level 30 and then try to evolove another one.
