How about dragon pulse?

So the questions regarding dragonite seem to boil down mostly to DB/DC vs. DT/OR. How about DB/DP vs. DT/OR? Or DB/HB? I have read replies basically implying that the DB/DC move set is so good that even a low iv one (have a 35 iv caught in the wild stuck at 700ish cp...) should be invested in above all others...is this true?

For those of us that missed the uber mon by one roll of the charge move (if you got steel wing, let's not mince words - it was a fail... I know the feeling - 5 time SW loser myself), it would be good to knwo if the other DB combos are worth investing in or we should move on...

Everything that people have been saying about DB-DC, with respect to the debate between legacy movesets versus Dragon Tail movesets, applies to DB-DP and DB-HB, just to a slightly lesser extent than it does to DB-DC.

I would say that it's more difficult to dodge effectively with DP and HB compared with DC, but the main advantage is in the quick move, Dragon Breath. All of the legacy sets are good offensively. The raw DPS numbers between DP and DC are very, very close. And HB is right behind those.

I think DC is better than DP on defense now. Can you list your movesets?

I will say that I think SW/DC is a very good defensive legacy moveset now. Not better than the new DT/O but much better than before.

DB/DP is probably not better than DT/OR as most would grade it but I would put it pretty close if you use DB to dodge well and are very careful about when you throw out DP since it can get you murdered. It's definitely a very good offensive moveset. I would say it is as good as DT/Hurricane maybe?

This harkens back to a question that was posted a while ago and I don't know if it was ever answered... how do the new move sets and readjusted legacy moves feel?

The DB/DP one I have currently is at 1808cp and I have been using it for prestiging. I know the numbers come back well for DP, but it still feels cumbersome and sometimes even slower than HB (not true, I know, but just feels that way...) I think I would feel more comfortable investing in it had the cooldown been buffed the way ice beam was (wow! Practically a quick move now!) but it feels even slower than before and makes me hesitant...

For that matter, none of the new move sets seem to feel right... I tried the DT out once when I friend and I brought a gym down (used his account for one round since he recently rolled DT/HB) and it was ok (kinda slightly slower ZH... heavy damage for every hit as everyone's been stating) but it just felt somehow different... I guess this is the way that niantic wants us to use dragonite now...

I follow this guy, where he does side by side comparisons. This is just one such example. Doesn't cover all of the permutations you mentioned, but at least it covers some of them.

Most important part of this video is that it illustrates how much better DB-DC is for dodging and retaining HP for the subsequent battles. For this reason, DB-DC is clearly a better sweeper. DT-Outrage has higher cycle DPS, but you won't be able to dodge nearly as effectively and you will faint much quicker.

They are all so close in damage it's more preference than anything. The comparison videos make it even more apparent than the raw numbers.

Over the course of a whole battle a second or two difference is nothing. Some like to dodge, some like single bar moves, some are DPS lovers. Should probably just use them unupgraded in battle against something weak and pick which feels the best for your style and stick with it.

My first DB was HB and I was disappointed and never even tried it. Then I rolled a DP and powered it and completely hated it. Went back to HB and loved it. Moral of the story is I shouldn't have went strictly on other players' opinion, I should've made my own.

Yeah my DB/HB is my go-to attacker. I then got another with the same moveset, who I haven't really touched except as a backup Vape-slayer (I have no good grass attackers), and the other day got SW/H on my third, which nearly brought me to tears :-)

But I get that people are still struggling to even get to 1 Dragonite so I should quit complaining.

I have all 3 combinations of DB dragonites. But the one I use the most is the DB/HB dragonite. Something about charging up and unleashing hell with that 1 bar hyperbeam fills me with joy =) In addition, they have now made the cooldown for HB less, so I find I can dodge faster. I think they made the damage higher as well? Don't quote me on that.. not sure

My next fav is the DB/DC simply because he dances around those dazzling gleam blisseys effortlessly. It dances like a butterfly and stings like a bee

I almost never use my DB/DP dragonite. Found it a little cumbersome?

Have never tried DT dragonites and don't want to.

I'd say DB-DC is the best, and then DB-HB (especially since the cooldown was shortened), and then DB-DP. But they're all very close.

Tested my two 3020 DB/BP and DB/HB Dragonites on a 3000 HB Blissey yesterday. Both could take her down with time and health, dodging the HB's. I just like DB for it's quick attack time, which leaves room for plenty of dodging.
