highest level cp

hey players,

at which level can you max out ur mon to the highest cp they can obtain? level 38, 39 or 40? i always thought level 40 was the max (which would make the player level 39), but ive read on here the max mon cp level is 39 (player level 38). so which is it?

Max level for a pokemon is 39. There are was to get it to level 40 though, just do it when your pokemon is at level 38

I think you can power up your mons to 1.5 above your trainer level.
But others have reported a ceiling where level 40 mons can't be reached. So I'm not sure what to believe.
